Reading through their forum they really don't care he's leaving. Many comments about him having no bottle, inconsistent and not having a good footballing brain. They're genuinely excited to get Siggy who would be an upgrade on him.

No. They really care. But they are too bitter and pretend that they don't care.

A lot of it has the ring of sour grapes, it's been obvious for months that he would go and the supporters have turned on him. If this were all coming out of nowhere they'd be gutted.

I have a niggling feeling he might link well with Kane at spurs but could quite as easily end up as a bang average player at Newcastle or West ham.

This from an Everton fan sums up really well what kind of a player Ross Barkley is. You just can see him vanish into the mediocrity of a lower placed team but on the other hand he can get to the next level with us.

It's all in his head. If he doesnt make it, its not for a lack of coaching or talent,

I reckon we probably know more about Sigurdsson as a player than they do, since we've seen him play week in and week out. If they expect a genuine playmaker that dictates the game and dominates games, then they'll be in for a reality check. He'll get some goals and assists, but I've seen Barkley completely own games. That's not something Sigurdsson will be doing.

Talk sport claiming United in for him now ?

Wouldn't put it past Jose to try and disrupt us. Both him and Conte seem very wary of us.

Weird one though, I don't really see where he fits in at Utd when Mkhitaryan can't even nail down a place...

Imagine if this entire Ross Barkley saga is just a scam from Everton. They say he is for sale and will move, but then he never does and signs a new contract in September. It was all only to keep Tottenham all summer from signing whoever would have been instead of Barkley.

Unlikely for me. If Poch sees improvement with a Plan B alternative then we'd leave time to move on from Barkley. Further, given the player has said he wants a new chllenge, Everton will miss out on a lot of cash by not selling.

Saints said the same about Wanyama

Starting to think there will be movement on this when Sigurdsson moves to Everton. The sell on clause makes it more likely that the deals are linked too.

Like us with walker

People said much the same thing about Modric when he left too, I remember loads of people posting stats showing he'd had less asssists than so and so, and that we wouldn't miss him as much as some thought we would.

People will say the same thing about Eriksen if he leaves eventually.

It's only natural to try and look on the bright side of things and convince yourself that things won't be too bad. But losing a key first team player is never a good thing.

Especially if he goes to a rival. And I'm pretty sure with their ambitions, Everton would now consider us a rival.
