It's Levy's fault for leaving it this late, like always.

We should be moving on to other targets rather than playing this game of brinkmanship.

Sissoko or Janssen off the bench is Poch's "game changer" then.

I don't get this injury situation...
Surely if he's not as seriously injuried as claimed by a few articles Everton would want to get that known to boost the price?
If he indeed is seriously injuried why would they turn down £25 mill?

IMO I don't think Chelsea have bid £25m, Abramovich may have the money but he ain't that stupid.

Agree. There's being clever and then there's being too clever. Let's hope it's not the latter.

We'll get to see whether Ross really has 'his heart set' on joining us..

This may end up similar to the Toby situation. If he rejects Chelsea, there's nothing Everton can do about it & chances are he'll join us.

I hope it doesn't come down to wages, and that he sticks to his guns and holds out for us.

I dont think I would like to be working for a company where you are making the financial decisions!!!!

Business sense has nothing to do with football. Clubs that spend the most take home the trophies

As for Barkley - Everton have a prime asset who in today's mad market WILL fetch over 30m easily. There is absolutely no need for them to compromise with us. On the contrary - if they deny us they improve their own chances for a top 4 finish...

So £25m bid rejected by Chelsea.
A bidding war with Chelsea... lol.
Can offer more to Everton, can offer more wages.
As predicted this one looks over.
Let scrambling for players begin...

And there lies the problem, we have a chairman who runs the club as a business up against clubs who have foreign benefactors with a limitless pot of money.

Wow people get so bent out of shoe over a player who has shown some signs of quality over the past few years but nothing to really guarantee success at Spurs. It's not over and there is nothing to say that he will go anywhere this summer. If his injury is anywhere near a few months then waiting and getting him to sign a precontract in January meaning we get him for free would not be bad business.

As for the poster who says football is not about business it's about buying trophies....... not really is it.

It's clearly not just a case of that, because we were happy to cough up silly money for Sanchez.

Is there a scouting issue? Does Levy find attacking players boring?

I just don't get it.

Imagine what £40m could do on the attacking front on the foreign market.

Because if Chelsea's first bid is 25m, they'll be willing to offer more.

Who's to say we didn't try and offer 25m earlier in the window? No point in blaming anyone yet whilst he's still at Everton.

Maybe they only rejected it because they know Barkley will turn them down? Could be Everton and Chelsea working together to get more from us. Maybe far fetched, but possible.

Agreed and this is possible. Players aren't pieces of meat, particularly those in RBs position - they have a say too. It's quite possible RB doesn't want to go to Chelsea.
