Yes we do, one of the reasons Arsenal have been doing well is injuries have forced them into playing a settled side, at least where possible keep the PL team the same and do what you want in the cups.

Trouble is it's seriously hard to fathom what our best team is.

Its Monday morning, I'm tired and in desperate need of some coffee!!!

In fairness though, I honestly don't know if it is a case of AVB not knowing his best 11 or more a case of him trying to please everyone and give them all some game time so as not to breed any discontent. I do think he is overly sensitive about players after the whole Chelsea debacle and this is maybe to the detriment of the results. But IMO it is very simple, pick the best team available and appropriate for the match and play them, week in and week out, until a player's form dips and then give someone else the chance to step up. Sure there are certain positions can be tinkered with slightly dependent on the opponents etc. but for the main part it needs to be the same team. It must be disheartening for a player to perform really well and then get dropped for the next game.

Trouble is the players aren't helping the decisions either, for example neither of Holtby or Eriksen have stepped up and made the 10 position their own. The same with the wide positions, Townsend did for a while but seems to have hit a wall (hopefully temporarily) but nobody else has or gas been given a chance to. As for the 2 CM positions, who bloody knows? Personally for me now it's Sandro and a n other in front of him but nobody is dominating it.

He clearly favours Paulinho, and will do for the money we paid. He seems to favour Sigurdsson too. I guess he sees him as our Milner - takes orders well and works hard.

I think the midfield 5 need to be constant, only changing for injuries, form dips and cup games. He's got to grow a pair and not worry about pissing players off.

The fact that we're not scoring goals, would suggest that he doesn't know our best attacking combination.

I don't think anyone does. No matter who we play, the problems are the same.

He probably doesn't know our best 11 as he hasn't had all of the players fit at one time to choose from, unfortunately.

We are 'the link between defence and attack' away from being great.

Which is great and shit in equal measure.

We havent been rotating!o_O

We have just had a first team for PL and second team for cups. Most of the changes are down to injury. Except the Eriksen one.

Rotation isn't always a bad thing though, Fergie did it to good effect with United a lot. The thing is we have a big squad and for whatever reason not many of our players are exactly shining in their positions. Dembele's gone off the boil, Sig had a purple patch but still remains kind of ineffective, Townsend has hit a bit of a wall, Eriksen not having the effect that maybe some of us thought etc. and when you have players like Sandro, Lamela, Lennon, Holtby and so on on the bench there are always gonna be some changes especially if players aren't performing.

I don't think we're quite clicking as a team yet but when we do I think we'll see the level of play from a lot of the players increase.

We need a settled side. AVB and his coaching staff need to think long and hard about what is the strongest team and play it. Give it until end of December to see if it works

Lloris
Walker Chiriches Kaboul Vertonghen
Capoue Sandro
Lamela Eriksen Townsend
Soldado

I do.

I plan on hanging around outside AVB's apartment with a folder full of statistics to badger him with until he gives me a job, despite my total lack of experience. I think he'll relate to that.

He should play our best 11 every week for the next few weeks just to try and get some consistency / pattern and link to our play.

He doesn't know his best 11 because I don't think he has played the same 11 twice in a row. He is the polar opposite to 'arry in that there are far too many changes to the team each week.

Football is all about partnerships in the pitch and knowing what your team is going to do. Without the same 11 playing consistently it is very difficult to build an understanding on the pitch
