Do we need to stop this for the next 8-10 games and play our best 11, does AVB know his best 11?
Yes we do, one of the reasons Arsenal have been doing well is injuries have forced them into playing a settled side, at least where possible keep the PL team the same and do what you want in the cups.
Trouble is it's seriously hard to fathom what our best team is.
Its Monday morning, I'm tired and in desperate need of some coffee!!!
In fairness though, I honestly don't know if it is a case of AVB not knowing his best 11 or more a case of him trying to please everyone and give them all some game time so as not to breed any discontent. I do think he is overly sensitive about players after the whole Chelsea debacle and this is maybe to the detriment of the results. But IMO it is very simple, pick the best team available and appropriate for the match and play them, week in and week out, until a player's form dips and then give someone else the chance to step up. Sure there are certain positions can be tinkered with slightly dependent on the opponents etc. but for the main part it needs to be the same team. It must be disheartening for a player to perform really well and then get dropped for the next game.
Trouble is the players aren't helping the decisions either, for example neither of Holtby or Eriksen have stepped up and made the 10 position their own. The same with the wide positions, Townsend did for a while but seems to have hit a wall (hopefully temporarily) but nobody else has or gas been given a chance to. As for the 2 CM positions, who bloody knows? Personally for me now it's Sandro and a n other in front of him but nobody is dominating it.
As my son says "word" I think it means I agree.1. Yes
2. No
Huddlestone surely?Buy Jenas in January. We will have a real tilt at the title.
I was gonna say, Chimbonda on a free would really give Walker some competition.Huddlestone surely?
The fact that we're not scoring goals, would suggest that he doesn't know our best attacking combination.
I don't think anyone does. No matter who we play, the problems are the same.
