Spoke really well about his time at Man U at the end of the programme last night.

He said he was lucky to get where he did in the game. Said he had a ridiculous amount of luck. But I think he meant being in the right place at the right time. Said he could only do three things and he made a career out of it. Control the ball, pass and run. Then went on to say you’d be surprised at the amount of professional footballers who can’t do those things!

Imagine if we’d of signed someone like him in the 90s.
We were offered him when he was still in Ireland but refused.

I can see why Keane didn’t make it in management as his man-management probably just consisted of him telling the players how shit they were! ??

Yeah I remember the incident with the Ireland lads - oddly enough I can remember I was on holiday dining on a Wetherspoons whilst reading about it randomly! ??

Watching that Keane vs Vieira Best of Enemies program. Can’t help but feel jealous that we couldn’t have that.

I think Wright handles him well. Just laugh it off. It's actually quite funny if you don't take him at all seriously.

If Roy Keane is mad, I'm happy.
If Roy Keane is starving, I'm satisfied
If Roy Kane is sick, I'm healthy
If Roy Keane is sad, I'm fabulous
If Roy Keane is angry, I'm joyful
If Roy Keane is poor, I am rich
If Roy Keane is single, I am married

A lot of it though is so obviously an act. I saw a bit of the Norwich/Southampton game beforehand and he was completely different, calm and reasonable in what he said, praised Southampton for how they played and got their goals, was generally sympathetic to Norwich and didn't stick the boot in even if some of their play and approach and refusal to learn maybe deserves it.

I get he will care more about United, but for their/big teams games it's like he knows he's expected to come out and sound off and tear strips off someone.

I will say he's still far less annoying than BT's equivalent "say something controversial to spark a debate" merchant Chris Sutton.

This line from Keane used on John Scales when the two teams bumped into each other in a nightclub cracked me up

Not sure this will work out

Sounds like something you would setup solely for an Amazon Prime documentary ?
