here's a rumor coming from sunny Spain....

Reported Tottenham target Apono has revealed he has received no contact regarding a summer move.

Apono is a box-to-box midfielder who has weighed in with eight goals to help Malaga’s push for a shock Champions League place this season.

That could prove the biggest stumbling block to Spurs, who almost certainly would not be able to lure the 25-year-old should Malaga earn an invitation to Europe’s top table.

Villarreal and Valencia are both admirers of Apono, but reports in Spain have linked Spurs’ name heavily towards the midfielder.

Apono refused to give indication of his future plans, only revealing he had had no contact with Harry Redknapp’s side.

"I do not have any news and my objective is to fight to the end to obtain a European place at Malaga," stated the £7 million-rated player.
