Clearly with recent appointments we should expect to continue to be surprised by links because we finally seem to be building a scouting infrastructure. So I’ve no idea who this guy is until today but if the club think he’s decent for our system then we can have far more confidence he will be an asset than in years gone by

Obligatory video

Holy sh*t, some of the goals in this video are insane. Recoba-esque left foot. Especially with how he strikes dead balls.

EDIT: PLEASE SIGN HIM UP. HE CAN ACTUALLY SCORE FROM A FREEKICK!!!

I’m not usually impressed by Utube videos of players but my God his shooting is very impressive. He gets his shots away early and hits them with some power. No way Kane’s taking free kicks with this guy around. He’ll give JWP a run run for his money.

We’ve all been calling for a player who would enable us to switch to a 3-5-2 or 3-4-1-2 when a team successfully neutralizes Conte’s primary formation, and this looks like a very astute signing.

He’s a 29 year old with a year remaining on his contract who is a squad player at his current club in a league where every club is in financial crisis. He should come very cheaply, enabling us to fill a gap in the squad while keeping our powder dry for opportunities at the end of the window, in January, or next summer.

Right, linked to a player 99% of people hadn't heard of before 6pm and now everyone is collectively jizzing over his youtube clips.

To me this is underwhelming, to go from being linked with Maddison / Paqueta and Zaniolo to this guy....

That said, if he's who Conte wants then fine, but it seems another budget deal. I was hoping we would be in for more elite level exciting players this window and it's just not materialised for one reason or another.

Are we really shopping in the same market as Notts Forest?

That said if we sign him, full support etc etc
Of course computer game ratings are just for reference for abilities, but somehow they do reflect the reputation. For the Maddison/Paqueta/Zaniolo "underwhelming" comparison...

PES/efootball 2022
83 - Maddison/Malinovskyi
82 - Paqueta/Zaniolo

FIFA 22
82 - Maddison
81 - Paqueta/Malinovskyi
78 - Zaniolo

Clever purchase/loan if we do it. It’s like a Conte plays chess. He wants to implement specific players based on specific scenarios. I can see how this guy can help us when we are chasing a game or even looking to go for the kill. Offers something very different. You can see he is highly technical… just like Deki, Ivan, Bentancur. And it’s these types of players that really come in useful when breaking through a low block. Or breaking a high press.

That Paratici guy is a bit clever!

Haven't seen anything from our ITK'S on this as of yet so will believe that something is happening when our own trustworthy minds of information come forward. I hope we can do this and Zaniolo.

TBH Bissouma news was broken by the press first as well. And our ITKs alluded to our interest in midfielders from Italy without giving specific names.

I believe this is the guy I thought they meant when they mentioned milenkovic and I was disappointed.
I then realised it wasn't him and I was just not fussed, now if it is him I'm disappointed because he doesn't impress me. That said I only have a passing acquaintance with his career so I could be wrong.
Maybe he can do a job for us.
Edit: upon reflection I don't get it, we've been trying for Zaniolo (23) and apparently had an idea for Maddison (25) as an option yet we're taking this guy who's(29)? Has to be a stop gap doesn't he?

Why doesn't he get more minutes for Atalanta though?

From what I've read it's because he's predominantly an attacking CM that isn't the greatest defensively which doesn't really work in Atalanta's already ultra-attacking setup, so he rotates at CAM where there is a lot of competition.
He would probably be great as a rotational option with Deki or someone to put on instead of PEH or Bentancur when chasing a goal or struggling to break down a team.

He can time and weight a pass in the final third very nicely by the looks of it.

Not exactly a Zaniolo clone but that's why he won't cost 40M-50M I guess.

For me, he has a very similar skill set to Kulusevski, and will be a very useful addition from the bench.

Literally never heard of him. Looks like he has a booming shot as has been stated. I guess it’s not about how glamorous signings are but what they contribute. If we get him I’ll hope for the best.
