Ryan Mason has given a chance off the bench in Tottenham's last three games after the Dutchman barely featured under Jose Mourinho before he lost his job as Spurs head coach.

Mourinho always had to have somebody outside the bubble trying to get in.

He was good when he first came but injury, playing injured and Mourinho knocked the confidence out of him. Whether he is good enough to be a starting eleven player I am not sure but there’s enough about him to show he’s got something. Whether he will get to someone like Son’s level I very much doubt and that is what we need. But will he ever get the games to get there?

He looks very good at times, but at other times not very good at all. Lots of pace and works hard but his shooting is wayward - if he can put it all together he may become a decent player. Time will tell, I guess.

This is the thing. Really, modern wing forwards/part of a front three (whatever it's called!?) need to be contributing 5-10 goals and 5-10 assists to merit a place in a top4/6 team.

I think he be more on the look to improve rather than must keep pile

I think he deserves another chance. He hasn't been helped by our dysfunctional midfield and our lack of possession during matches due to tactics and poor form in general. If we can get Deli playing well again and someone decent to replace winks et al, it might free him up more from majority defensive work. We need to get back to possession football to see the best of Steven Bergwijn or he's just chasing long balls on counter attacks which are likely to be cleaned up by half decent defences. He could be like another Aaron Lennon we need to feed him more over the top diagonal passes from midfield so he can get in behind defences and do his thing then, rather than on the half way line where he still has two lines of defence to try and overcome.

When he receives the ball near the half way line, we need the RB to create an overlap, or the ball just gets played inward then backward.
