he doesnt want to go , they dont want to sell him
not a lot we can really do, no point in saying we should offer this or that
why should fulham sell, they are going for the prem, player wants to stay and play, fair play to him

I think Dele has a lot to do with this. We bought him for what was generally seen as a reasonable fee for a player two divisions down but now he has been bandied around as one of the most valuable players in the world you should expect teams to be playing hardball with rich clubs like ours. In my opinion Sess did the right thing to stay, gain experience, build up strength and stamina and Fulham were smart to make the most of a valuable asset; promotion to the Premier League is worth more than any transfer fee

The only thing I would say from the point of view of Sess is that a move now to a Premier League club gives him a chance to show what he can do before the World Cup. If, and it's a big if, he settled in immediately like Dele then he would be in the frame for the squad especially with Rose struggling for fitness

I think fair play to Fulham really. This is the equivalent of Madrid snooping for Kane/Dele. They don’t have to sell, don’t want to sell, and like we want our players for the CL push - they want theirs for the PL push

Obviously with the shoe on the other foot for once I wish they would give in but I don’t begrudge what they are asking for giving the situation.

I suspect there is a Bale-type realization that the player wants bigger and better things but you want it to work for all sides. I hate it when we have that realization so feel for Fulham there.

I read somewhere that the latest hike in football transfer fees is actually, and surprisingly, aligned to the traditional ratio between 'class A' signings and revenue, which has been around 20-25% for decades. E.g. Sessegnon is not a 'Class A' signing (they are the Neymar's, Kane's etc). I'd imagine that 10% of revenue would be closer to what a club would be prepared to pay for a 'Class A prospect' like Sessegnon. Based on the latest Deloitte figures for us that would mean £30.5M. For us to pay £50M (25% of our revenue pre-new stadium) he'd have to be an established super star.

That is crazy. If he is worth 50 million as a 17 year old unproven at the highest level what does that make someone like Rose worth who is proven at highest league level and at international level ? 150 million ?

Really doesn’t work like that.

Rose will be 28 this summer. With his injuries and playing style it is possible he has 3 years left with little sell-on value.

Sess is 17 so we could have a player for over 10 years and if he gets to the level some are predicting then he could also have a huge sell-on value.

Still not choosing to understand everything that's been placed in front of you in black and white.

LOL

:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Try harder.

what are you talking about I have moved on obviously you have not!!

I am referring to getting him for £50 million at his age is obviously high but on a long contract would probably add up value wise!!

That's why you quoted me and told me to stop? LOL

Alright.

Anyway he isn't going anywhere anytime soon by the sounds of it.

Unfortunately, the earliest and slimmest chance of getting him, under Levy's acceptable terms, would be in the summer and that's only if Fulham doesn't get promoted.

Guess we'll have to wait till the summer to re-negotiate any terms.

£50m is a lot of money but transfer fees have gone insane and he is a ridiculous talent. He’s scored 11 goals from left back, I don’t care if it’s the championship, 17 year olds just don’t do that. We had one a bit like that not all that long ago and he turned out to be a bit special. Sessegnon just has it, you can see it from a mile off. I think we’ll get outbid though whenever we decide to firm up our interest, because someone will be willing to pay what Fulham are asking.

Pretty sure he’s mostly played LW this season.

LB/LW, either way name 17 year old left wingers on pace for 20 goals anywhere. He’s going to be special. If he was French he’d be hyped up in the Mbappe/Dembele range.

He’s the one that I love us to sign, now/summer would be great to get him in a Spurs shirt.
£50m does sound pricey though.

Not sure if this has been mentioned but would people be prepared to swap Rose for Sessegnon i.e. if we could get 50m for Rose (which we prob could), would you be prepared to spend that on RS? One is 17 and massively on the rise and the other is 28 and at his peak as one of the best players in his position.

I personally have no idea as I have never seen Sessegnon play, but am interested in others opinions.

Yes, instantly. Obviously won't happen though.
