Samba Spurs: Could Tottenham Hotspur line-up with four Brazilians next season?

If that was our total summer transfer business, would you be happy?

i hope for bernard. i don't think paulinho is what we need and i prefer other strikers to damiao, so overall, no.

C'mon man, this is how he's described:

José Paulo Bezerra Maciel Júnior, commonly known as Paulinho translated Little Paulo, (born 25 July, 1988 in São Paulo) is a Brazilian footballer who currently plays as a midfielder for Corinthians. He is well known for his extreme levels of mental toughness and also his aerial prowess.
Paulinho is a box-to-box midfielder who "is a strong and powerful runner, pushing his side forward from midfield to supplement his fine defensive work. Paulinho also offers a useful presence in set piece situations at both ends of the pitch."[1]

If accurate, then sign him up immediately please... :ninja:

My son is going to be an England Centre forward, Van Basten style!

Ok so my son doesn't play football (yet)
Ok so my son doesn't know how to walk (yet)
Ok I don't know if my wife is having a boy/girl (yet)
Ok, so I don't have a wife.

I think I should get around to one of these before eying up the last...;)

Haha, very Moe from the Simpsons

could spurs have four Brazilians? Yes, in my dreams but in my dreams it's actually five, Sandro, Pele, Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Ronaldiniho .

In general, me too. But there are no guaranties with Sandro, Dembele, and Parker for the upcoming season. SO,... Paulinho in there cements that and if all goes well it will be Sandro and Paulinho in that engine room. Get a winger, striker, and maybe a second striker/attacking CM to round it all out. Bernard is not gonna be a big assist man in the prem,... he can't just pass it to ronaldino, let him beat like 3-4 players, score, and get the assist :playful:

In short, I agree with you and Spurs need some attacking players with an eye for the pass, but that is not mutually exclusive with avoiding other positions in need. :mask:

FFS, we've been chasing one for the last three years! Anyone who expects us to get three in one window is fucking cuckoo ;)

In both addition to and agreement with you, let's let Alex Pritchard get some playing time,... if he were Spanish we'd be bidding 5-10 mi for him as a continental player with great potential and vision. But, he's local, so he just rots in the reserves...

Have we all got so highbrow since the season finished that no one has even attempted a "depends if they are man enough for the waxing" gag.
The lack of traditional gutter response is absolutely pitiful.

Bernard is a real flair signing and I hope it happens. However, a middle 3 of Sandro, Paulinho and Moose would be formidable. Strength, size and guile. We'd have one hell of an engine.

its also mancini style pragmatism. 3 DM-esque players when we are already crying out for more creativity and passing range? no thanks

It wouldn't surprise me if we didn't get any of them but I've got a sneaking suspicion we'll get 1.

Moose is a DM now? I take your point but AVB has already added Holtby so obviously sees the need for that himself. A middle 3 of those three types would serve us perfectly at times though. Especially if AVB wants to implement the 4-3-3 with the FBs pushing on. It would be necessary in fact.
Especially if that system is to be employed against the top half of the prem and not the minnows in the Portuguese league.

Paulinho and Bernard would be awesome, IMO.

I'd take Soldado and several others over Damiao.

Just read that we're linked with Lamela (Roma) now, that could be pretty tasty too.

Whatever happens, we have to make a serious statement of intent and soon if we expect both AVB and GB to stick around.
