Free transfer, wages reported to be 70k a week.

Has to be a good deal for them?

I bet it ain't £70k and I bet it is very much performance and appearance related. Lukaku is injured.
Bill K is a good chairman. I tipped Everton for top 4. They had Arsenal on the ropes for a lot of the game but there is no depth in their squad. Who knows?

A decent move. He looked a bit past it at Chelsea last year but did crop up with the odd goal or two. They need depth, particularly up too. They can't solely rely on Lukaku since, as much as he's the main man, he's bound to be out for spells. Eto'o will give them a decent enough player to cover for Lukaku when he's out and someone to use for those pesky Europa League group games.

Great move for them, he is still a quality striker and he will give Everton a bit more worldwide exposure.

I disagree entirely, in fact he thrived off shorter passing style at Barca. Trying to exploit his pace with it being in decline would be a problem but playing to his feet should get him a fairly good return.

He was reputedly on 250k a week at Anzhi, wasn't he?

Big pay cut for him unless someone is subsidizing him somewhere down the line

If we only had two strikers, do you think he could have done a job for us on a one year contract or is he too far over the hill?

I wouldn't have wanted him tbh. A few years ago perhaps but I think we've moved on from that sort of signing. Still think it's a good move for Everton though.
