I'm really looking forward to it

as the first TV game of the pre-season, I can feel the 'real stuff' coming in quite quickly now.

Would have liked some team news on the OS - but can't see any.

They have a couple of pages on the OS about us training over there and a page on the coverage of the game on STVO

Epson are also covering the game

yeah - but there's no team news

indeed AFAIK - they haven't even listed the squad that's gone, let alone who's fit to play and who not

would be nice to have some news on corluka and kranjcar for example

There is a reason why they havent listed the squat though.

Someone on COYS E-mailed and asked.

Dear Windy

Thank your for your enquiry that has been passed to me.

There are a number of reasons why we don't tend to make official announcements with regards to the playing squad on overseas tours.

The situation with regard to the playing squad during pre season is extremely fluid with players all at different stages of preparation and fitness. Additionally, we are in the peak season for transfer and contract activity, so there remains the possibility of players being called away at extremely short notice for various negotiations. If we were to officially confirm a squad and then for whatever reason, a particular player was to withdraw, this would inevitably lead to a wave of speculation from various sources and a level of disappointment from supporters who may have been expecting to see that named player.

We are aware that squad announcements such as these would be of huge interest to our supporters but, for a pre-season tournament, it is not really beneficial to commit to confirming a squad on an official basis.

I hope this helps.

Best regards

Would be cool to see Caulkner in particular as he excites me in a rather seedy way... :shifty:

Always been a fan of Townsend too and hope he makes the break-through, especially as he is a pacey left winger.

Caulker wont play as he is away with England U19s - they have their first game tomorrow. Townsend should be there though

Walker isn't in the squad (isn't he too old for U19's?)

Parrett and Bostock are in the squad with Caulker.
I think we told them Townsend wasn't available as we needed him after Bentley got injured.
