Apparently they weren't singing glory glory, but rather "who the fuck are arsenal" (I think). I can only guess that was to the same tune as glory glory for people to misunderstand it.

Not sure about the yids shout, tho I doubt it.

I like German football, think it's better quality than English football in general at the moment and it's better supported. Cologne got 40,000 for second division game the other day. The atmosphere at German games pisses ours.

Dortmund absolutely mullered (how apt) the English champions in their own back yard. Now Schalke have turned over Arsenal in theirs. And if anyone wanted more proof of the over hyping of the EPL, Shaktar's demolition of Chelsea and Ajax's demolition of ManC provided further evidence.

I think this down to complaceny and arrogance of English teams rather than German teams actually having better players.

It was brilliant for the five or so minutes we thought it was us.

I have just edited in Ajax's demolition of ManC too. It just highlights that it is not all about budget. Coaching still plays a major role - at various levels.

Atmosphere is better in Germany because ticket prices are cheap, meaning the ordinary man in the street, and younger people, can afford to go. These are the guys who sing more. They also have standing terraces as well. They've got it right.

Just to add a bit of balance although i generally agree, they did have quite a bit for trouble the other week.
I really wish the fa and premier league looked at standing areas.

Agreed. They also have an amazing national team.

I think the Germans have set out to preserve the cultural and national value of elite football, whereas the EPL has set out to monetise it.

I'd love to have something like the German model here, but it'll never happen.
