I know Big Phil won the WC which is obviously a massive achievement. However, it was with an amazing Brazil side! I have never seen what all the hype is about though and i am very surprised that Chelski havent gone for a proven European club manager. I mean Hiddink for instance has had success whether it be club or international. It seems that Frank Shinawatra at Citeh has made a very good choice in Mark Hughes whereas Roman has got desperate after being rejected by every Italian manager in Serie A. Be interested to see who they bring in now, obviously Bosingwa is already there, maybe Deco to replace Fat Frank

Deco will be going to Inter and he wouldn't be able to replace Fat Frank, no matter how much I hate him and Chelsea.

LOL. Big Phil turns down the England job because he doesn't want the press intrusion, then goes to chavski! Idiot. He will be in the papers twice a week.

Time will tell if this is good or not obviously. I'm really not sure. The man does have background managing world class players, which Chelsea can certainly afford.

Yeah right, I was thinking the same thing.

I'm pretty happy they have Scolari as there manager, he isn't really proven at club level, and club management is a real different ball game to international. Be interesting to see if he can adapt.

I found this comment by the chavs extremely funny...

"Out of respect for his current role and to ensure minimum disruption to this work there will be no further comment from Chelsea nor from Felipe about his new role until his employment with us commences."

Tell that to the tabloid press bus thats on its way to basel. If they haven't arrived yet.

I think he'll do well. Chelski is about managing ego's and with Portugal's history you can see he's done a good job. *please god let me be wrong*

I'm also looking forward to seeing him wenger go at it.

Confirmed on the Chelsea website. Weird timing.

Seconded...

But he's really going to fit well in Chelscum team. If you look what they have now the will be loads of players who will be kicked (sold) out. I hope that he change his system at Chelscum in 4-2-2-2 and not keepint that annoying 4-2-3-1 system. But like he had played Portugal, I bet that he's going to keep that 4-2-3-1 system and bring in few playerrs like Moutinho and propably Diego, cos he really admire him and that would be a really good side.

When he was first metioned a while back I thought that chelsea wouldn't be that desperate and yet it seems they were.

My reason was that the guy is over 60 and went into international as an easier option to club management and yet he now wants to go to chelsea.

This has retirement fund written all over it, he has gone there because in three years time he will be £12m better off which is a nice little pension for anyone.
I'm not saying this now just because he's gone to chelsea I honestly thought it before and figured the club would think that too and not hire him.

Big Phil always seemed to like being in charge - I wonder how he will perform when he is told what to do and who to buy.Is he the kind of manager that top players will enjoy playing for?I am not so sure.
The biggest impact on Chelsea this year could be the loss of one or two very important players - Drogba and Carvalho, possibly the best attacker and probably the best defender in the Premiership. If they both leave,I think they will be impossible to replace and I think Chelsea will struggle without them!

Fat Frank too!

Carvalho may possibly stay now.

I consider Chelski a completely different beast to any of the other so called big clubs just due to Abramovich. They have no real history and now have plastic fans. I am so glad Ancelotti rejected them, along with Spaletti and Prandelli allegedly as it shows top drawer club managers see what has gone at Chelski as a bit of a joke

Bomber's got it right - pretty much anyone could manage Chelsea. It could be interesting to see how he gets on with Wenger and Fergie though - expect some fireworks there. Hopefully he'll redeem himself by lamping one of those two.
