I know, and I understand all of this very clearly.
But you asked a straightforward question that didn't touch upon this and I provided potential answers.
We could have got him and a forward of the type we really needed and my potential answers to your question would still be valid.

Personally, I think Levy/Redknapp dithered, and underestimated how difficult it would have been getting a top striker (which I did, too). If they had known the likes of Rossi, Llorente, Aguerro, Forlan, <INSERT ANY RAMDOM STRIKER FROM SPANISH LEAGUE IN HERE> would all turn them down, I suspect they would have bit the bullet with Suarez - despite reservations about his similarity to VDV - and I think it would have worked.

I totally agree with you, he would have been a great addition, and know now you were just answering the question.

me 2...

redknapp tried to make people think that it wasn't his fault for not getting suarez...so he blamed on his scouts...but come on, suarez wasn't an unknown nobody who played in uruguay...he goddamn played for ajax...not a superstar but is definitely a star player...u still needed scouts to make judgment??? you couldn't watch TV or fly to holland to watch him play?

redknapp can't get away from this...it was his fault for not getting anybody when money was available...indecisive?? so he was indecisive in last summer? indecisive in january? all he did in january was to beg beckham to come...

Who did we bid for? Aguero, Rossi, Llorente? They not stars?

Suarez is no better than we have and 4 goals against shite teams with his diving and gesticulating during his Liverpool career so far hasn't done anything to make me sit up barring that piece of skill vs United.

I think people are more upset about the blame game Harry tends to revert too...

THIS. Suarez is a good forward, we all knew it. Not for Spurs, possibly. But Harry has to blame others and act teflon. He wanted to be big dog, so act it don't yap about your team.

'Can't lead the line?' Is it 1950? I remember he did well for Uruguay with Forlan who is not much different than VdV. I remember him playing on the wing, and as a striker, and he always excelled, because you see, he's exceptionally skillful and competetive player with good fotballing brain, and would do great in basically any football team on earth.

'He drops deep and VdV does the same, they're not compatible.' Well, look at this years CL finalists. They both have one thing in common: their creative players all tend to drop deep providing great level of interplay and flexibility. Besides, Suarez and VdV are pretty different players.

Some of us have been saying this for almost 2 years now: Redknapp has his qualities, he deserves credit for what he's done for this team, but he's too narrow-minded and incompetent to get us more than 4th-5th. And this team can do much better.

Continuity is what we need. Give Redknapp a bit of time, 2 full seasons is fuck all. Just wish the usuals would stop their crying about the same shit without anything to back it up.

Why's he only good enough for that kind of place? Are we not creating chances? Has he got the type of team he wants yet? No.

If they said it, I could deal...it is the fact that some of them appear to have been willing us to fail so they can have the opportunity to say, that's what I can't handle:roll:

His signings have been mostly spot on, people cried jobs for the boys when he was looking the experienced grafters I feel our team needs. We're rarely outplayed, have strength in depth and enough youth, yet he still gets stick every day on here from the same suspects. It's tiresome and a bit pathetic considering our decades of mediocrity.

2nd win at Anfield in the EPL, great performance where we did get a bit of luck we were overdue. Suarez showed himself up as a horrible **** on the few occasions he did get out of Ledders' back pocket. Mistake not signing him? Don't think so lads.

I thought he'd join us over Liverpool but unfortunately we didn't go for him.

He said he would love to move to LONDON (Spurs) because he wants his family live in the capital. Now no capital for him and every time he drives out of Liverpool and loses his tyres and think, "I should've joined Spurs..."
