Season ticket ID question

A friend of a mate of mine is moving to the US and said i can buy his season ticket of him for the remainder of the season. However, i'm a bit concerned about paying the money, in case they've started checking tickest more than they used to. I myself moved out of the country and gave (not sold) my season ticket to a mate and he never once got checked. Are they still lax when it comes to checking? Also if they do, would it be okay if I said all I have with me is a credit card, as the guy I'm buying it from would be happy to cancel a card and give it to me for ID?

I have never had ST's checked ever.

Plus over the years I have regularly let family and friends use them without any problems.

As far as I know the ticket is yours and you can let whoever you like us it but have the risk of the ST being cancelled if they cause any trouble.

I'm pretty sure that isn't the case.

I think it is to prevent people touting tickets for big games etc.

I used to have both of my ST's in my name, they were obviously next to each ever and were issued together etc and I was never given any restrictions over who could use my second ticket.

Hi Joey, I've been an St holder for quite a while and had never been checked until recently, when I say recently, I mean once in the last 5 years and that has been it, you'll be fine, go for it and enjoy.

If you feel more comfortable about having the credit card id from your friend and he's willing to do it, then fine, but they'll never ask you for it, at most they'll give it a quick glance and as long as the name isn't say female your sorted.

Technically your not supposed to lend your st ticket out to family and friends, but should give it back to the club to re sell if you can't make a specific game, in reality as legend has said your friends just take the ticket, this is one area where Spurs have been a bit daft to be honest.

Just remembered that my former employers had 2 season tickets at Spurs and they were in the company name and were always used by different people.

I am certain that the ticket can be used by whoever you want, it can't obviously be touted and if it is the ST will be cancelled and the same can happen if the user causes trouble.

I'm meant to be borrowing a season ticket for the reading game but it's in the name of a bird.

They've nevr cared in the last 10 times I've used it.

Unless they think I look like a Mary.

How do's legend, I might be getting the wrong end of the stick so to speak, but because that ticket was corporate, ie business name, then there is no probs, but for individual supporters I think they changed the rules, (don't quote me) and your not supposed to lend it out? If someone around here knows the rule that'd be useful, but in my time as an st holder it has definately gotten alot more fussy and frankly once we've coughed up the hard earned if we want to give the ticket to noddy, I don't see what the problem is.

Hi N17, I still have 2 ST's and have just been to have a look and they are both in my name.

West Upper, Block 2, Row 2, seats 40 & 41

I have then looked at the t's & c's which states in clause 2.3

Season tickets and match tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable and are only valid when used by the member to whom they are registered. Under no circumstances whatsoever is the member permitted to sell any tickets to a third party, unless through the ticket exchange scheme set out in paragraph 4 of these terms and conditions.

Make of that what you will, it says member use only but then forbids selling but makes no mention of giving.

All bizarre really as if it is member use only how can they issue me more than 1 ST in my name. Both only have my surname on, no Mr or Mrs or even christian names.

Well, it just gives them the opportunity to earn some more money?

Why get income from just the season ticket, when you can flog an empty seat for another £40. Grrrrrr.

Cheers legend, but if I'm reading that right, you can't give the ticket to a third party, which means someone else?

But you've got two season tickets in your name? So what are Spurs saying that you have to clone yourself?

It sounds nuts to me. That seems to only work if everybody has one ticket per person, I think spurs have fooked it up.

What they say in the terms and conditions and what they can enforce are two different things in my opinion.

Enough times I've seen season ticket holders not be able to turn up for a game for one reason or another, and a family member or friend has turned up in their place.

As far as I know as long as you don't "sell" it to anyone, they are going to be relatively relaxed unless the person who has the ticket gets into mischief.

whilst i think i´ve read the terms and conditions say the opposite, i´ve been on both sides of that particular fence for 5 years and never ever had a problem. stewards and turnstile guys have never cared in my experience when we´ve told them the truth.

best way to get in without having your ID checked is to wait untill just before kick off, they are all too busy trying to get everyone into the stadium they dont bother checking the ID... of that what it seems like  only been checked once when i went in early!
