Yeah, I get why they've done it but I'm a bit annoyed I won't be able to get a season ticket their because my 6ft'2 junior member brother is too little to stand.
I guess it's not just being able to see, but also that some prize idiots would take their kids along and then moan the moment anyone said a swear word.

I read that Arsenal take in the region of 4m at a home game. With these prices are we now at that level

Courtesy of JTS1882 on SSC:

On further analysis I count ...
  • ~470 seats at £795 (north lower, blocks 109 and 110)
  • ~ 400 seats at £875 at the back of the north upper (blocks 514 and 515)
  • ~ 330 seats at £875 at the top of the south stand (blocks 401 and 402)
  • a total of ~730 seats at £875
  • a total of ~1200 seats below £900
  • all the rest are £950 or above

Oh yeah I completely get why they have done it, just letting out my own frustration.

I am a little miffed with £2,200 1882 club in the south stand though. They can go on about the potential atmosphere all they like but a prawn sandwich section cutting right through the middle of the south stand is going to work wonders isn't it? I can just see the same at Dortmund or Anfield.

It's going to look great for 10 minutes either side of half time when there are 4 empty sections in the middle of our intimidating wall...

Also, from what I can see, the 1882 bar is in the corner of the west stand so god knows how the 1882 club members in the east and south stand are going to get round there for a pint and a pie at half time and back to their seats in 15 mins.

What's pretty amazing is how bad the PDF presentation of the page with the ticket prices and the relevant coloured blocks is. It's like it's been done by a 3 year old on a ZX Spectrum.

you'd think if they're asking extortionate prices, the least they'd do is make sure the bit where you tell people how much they have to pay isn't blurred and shit. The colour keys they're using don't even match.

Agreed. Think there’s a real possibility they have messed up this stand

The more I look at it, the more obvious it is they've completely fucked this up. They've got this 1882 Club - ie corporate, right across the middle of the 'iconic' south stand. So our intimidating home end will be half empty while people are in the bar, and otherwise populated by prawn sandwiches.

Really sad that they went on so much about building a stadium for fans and atmosphere whereas in reality it's only about how much they can drive the working class fan out of the game and make the regular going rate approaching £100 a game.

Bear in mind there will no doubt be a price hike every season.

Agreed. It’s supposed to be the heartbeat of the stadium but in reality it’s going to be meh.

A intimidating wall it is not

Phase one for me, although we've got people in our group from phase one to four, so god knows what we'll decide.

Fully expected the prices to be higher, wouldn't make any sense for the club not to try to attempt to maximise revenue. It's a business, no point building this shiny new stadium with the promise of it allowing us to pay higher wages if we offer tickets fairly "cheap". We'll be pulling in over £100m match day minimum looking at that, if there's no change in terms of wages then I'll be pissed off.

I think they've made a mistake though. The south stand was designed to be the heartbeat, the part designed to generate atmosphere that would spread across stadium. Now the centre of that stand tickets are in region of 1200 quid. I'm concerned the hardcore, atmosphere generators are going to be priced out of a key part of stadium and it'll affect noise. The club should have made sure all south stand tickets were under a grand, bump up other tickets elsewhere by a bit here and there to balance things out. It's such an important thing for me that the noisiest fans would be filling that stand, there's a risk now it won't be that way.
