Second most players that count towards the 25 man squad

We all know we've got a big squad. But how big? Well, as it stands we have the second most players that would count towards a squad place.

Here's the stats:

Arsenal - 25 (8 HG)
Aston Villa - 24 (17 HG)
Blackburn - 20 (5 HG)
Bolton - 22 (13 HG)
Chelsea - 23 (6 HG)
Everton - 21 (9 HG)
Fulham - 22 (13 HG)

Have to be careful with the homegrown player rule as well, (I thought you had to have 8?) because I presume in our current 14 the likes of O'Hara, Alnwick, Livermore and Naughton have been counted who wont make the 25 man squad anyway, take them away and we have to be careful about selling home-grown players.

Good point well made. With o'hara gone/going and possible loan for caulker, we're almost down to 8 with no other homegrown sales

The rule is that you can have a maximum of 17 non-homegrown players, there is no rule about the number of homegrown players you must have, you could have none if you wanted.

Only if you want a 25 man squad, it's not forbidden to go with only 17 -24 registered senior players. Hence clubs aren't forced to have 8 home grown, but it makes the squad stronger if they have

I wasn't counting Dawkins as his loan runs until December (same as I haven't counted other players at other clubs that we know will be out on loan for the first half of the season). Not sure what the other difference is though!
