Hi guys (and girls)

As this is very trendy at this time to speak about possible transfers for

next year (now that it appears that we 're almost safe from relegation);

I just like to know what you're thinking about Real Madrid Defender

Sergio Ramos ................

I know this is very unlikely to hapen and maybe he isn't even for sale but

you're all only speaking about brreaking about breaking into the Top 4 and

in my opinion, this is not likely to happen neither (at least not for next

season ).

As many of you , we all agree that our squad is too big to make

everybody happy (especcally if we have not european football next year)

and loads of players appear to be on their way out this summer.

And it appears that we'll get quite good money with them ( Bentley, Bent

to name only 2 who are likely to be out this summer) .

I like Sergio Ramos because

1 / He is young (born on 30.03.09) so just 23.

2 / He is good and proven defender (with good international experience).

3 / He is a tough lad who isn't afraid to fight.

(In one report on him on french football magazine "So Foot" from April

2008; the italian physical coach at Real Madrid (Walter Di Salvio) tells

about him :

"Sergio is running about 14 km per game , he is jumping the highest and he

recovers (from tireness) and get fit the best in the team.

" From a "power" point of view , he is better than the likes of Roberto

Carlos and Wayne Rooney".

From one year to another, he is better and better from all points of view :

speed, power and energy ".

4/ He is a nice looking lad ( and this would allow the Club to sell some
shirts to kids or continue to bring ladies to games ( kind of a new David Ginola)

And as it appears that we now have still some good connections at Real

Madrid with Juande ..........Ramos now in charge.

(i just read that we might be interested in Heinze).

I am honestly thinking that we can afford him

with the money of all guys maybe going

Bentley - Bent - Hudd - Rocha ,Boateng; etc..... and i just don't think we

can afford to keep all our young boys out on loan.

They're probably very good but not sure about them to be ready to break

into the top 4 as it appears that this has been the main objective for the

last few years .

Considering that Real Madrid has a huge squad (from a number point of

view) (if you take into account their first teamers) See link below

http://www.lequipe.fr/Football/FootballEffectifClub108.html

they' ll need to offload players also ( before to bring in new ones)

I know that Sergio ramos is one of the most used players this year

(see link below) at Real but we brought in players like Berbatov ,

Pavlyuchenko or Modric.... So why not Sergio Ramos.

http://www.lequipe.fr/Football/FootballJoueursUtilises108.html

With Him we would get a nice and solid back line

Left back : Benoit Assou Ekotto + Gareth Bale
Centre Backs : Woody + Daws + Ramos + ( King to come in when one of them not fit)
Right Back : Corluka + (Chimbo + Hutton if both still at the club at the time ) + Ramos ( most of time play RB at Madrid)

And as it appears that Juande Ramos still rates Didier zokora very highly ,

we can imagine a deal Ramos = Money + Zokora.

I know that this is not likely to happen but i am sure we can make some

kind of good business with them this summer.

If not Sergio Ramos to join , i Think that Pepe ( also a centre back and

only 26 ) who is a tough footballer would not need ages to cope with

English football .

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Képler_Laveran_Lima_Ferreira

I would be also be happy guys like Royston Drenthe (22 years old) (to join

us ( to play left defender or left midfiedler) and turn into or left side Aaron
Lennon

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royston_Drenthe

or

a guy like Mahamadou Diarra to join us (as part of a zokora Deal + Money

for example) and paired with Wilson Palacios in the middle of the pitch.

That would be kind of scarry for any EPL squads to face them .

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mahamadou_Diarra

They would destry the opponents' game (including the likes of the Top 4)

and make things easier for luka Modric to create movement up front.

And even if our opponents to go through them , some decent defenders

(already named)+ 1 good goalie are behind (Gomes) .

One more time, this is a long post from me, but i really think we can make

good business with Real Madrid this summer considering that Juande

Ramos probably still rate some of the players quite well.

What all of you do think of my post and i am sure one or several of the

guys named there would be probably add "steel" to our squad.

Thanks for reading and looking forward for your replies.

I don't think Ramos(as in Juande) will be there come the start of next season. I'm fairly sure they have someone else lined up. Unless he catches Barca at the top and delivers the League (which he most likely won't).

Could be wrong though.

Kendall,

Please note that if you had read my post , you would have sen that i also

spoke about other Real Madrid Players.

And some of them plays "in our league " because at some points we were

interested to sign Drenthe.

If we want to be "Top 4" , we'll have to prove it by signing goodproven

players .If not , we 'll play with the Villa and Everton forever.

I dont think anyones speaking about the top 4, We actually have a smaller then average squad. And Ramos is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out of our league. We keep the players we can we buy maybe only 1 world class/proven player and that will be it for me

Van Der Vaart is someone we get linked with a lot but I think he's got an attitude problem and has under-achieved plus he thinks he's too good for us.
Ramos would be nice but as French Alex says it ain't very likely.
Seriously that Pepe who plays for Real Madrid is pants I rate him below Richard Dunne & Cannavaro don't look much good nowadays.

Alex, we won't sign Sergio Ramos. However, I totally agree that he's 'a nice looking lad'.

The others would be over-priced, which wouldn't normally be a concern, but while we're playing well, you'd have to be nuts to buy replacements that are not used to the league for lots of money. Especialy as it devalues the vast money we've spent on the guys they'd be replacing.

I have a feeling we'll make a move for Ruud Van Nistlerooy in the summer.

Ah, that's not the worst idea. Especially if Ramos stays and fancies Pav. I suspect we'd be more likely to try for Milito first, though. Then after not getting the hint that they won't sell to us, RVN will have gone elsewhere and we'll go in for Dean Ashton.

We've been linked with Cannavaro over the weekend as he's out of contract in the summer apparently... Don't know how good he is now, but I don't think we really need first choice centre backs with Ledley playing regularly now... He'd probably want muchos Euros anyway...

Then, just after the window closes, Ashton will get injured for a year, so we'll start the season short of strikers again. So January will arrive (not a minute too early) and we'll be forced to save our season. We'll re-sign Mido on loan until the end of the season, and we'll also re-sign Klinsmann after bringing him out of retirement. They will save our season (just) and we'll start again the following year. We'll sell Ashton for £2m (after paying £15m for him) and we'll sign Kanoute for £15m. Keane will leave for Liverpool (again) because they have a new manager. Defoe will leave with Harry, and we'll make a bold attempt to re-sign Berbatov. We'll put all our eggs in that basket, and on transfer deadline day, when its clear we wont get him, we'll re-sign Rasiak...

guardian has us linked with heinze now as well. from what i have seen of him for madrid hes not even half the player he was at old trafford but whether thats age, settling in etc who knows.
remains to be seen what 'arrys pulling power is like now that hes with us, the biggest name hes managed. in the january window he did manage to get wilson but looks like wages were a big factor in that as well and the others were here before with CC looking to play some games so remains to be seen whether heinze or similar would be out of 'arrys reach with a strong possibility of no europe for next season

Sergio Ramos's form was dire at the start of the season mainly coz he didn't get on with Schuster. Since Ramos has been there he has been getting his old form back and looks quality again. If he were to become available i think Milan would be at the fron of the queue followed by all the other top European clubs. Players there like De la Red (if he plays again), Drenthe and Javi Garcia would be the only ones we would stand any chance of signing.

This week Gazzetta dello Sport have linked us with 3 Real players in 3 days. Saturday was Cannavaro, Sunday Heinze and today they reckon we are in a straight fight with Fiorentina to sign Royston Drenthe for 6 million euros.

I doubt any of it is true, but it is does put the opening post into perspective a little bit and not quite as crazy as it sounds (i.e. the speculation is there).

No chance with Sergio Ramos though.

I'd rather go get Messi, Eto'o and Ribery

Not that we'd have a chance in signing those, like Rivaldo, Figo and Arshavin.
