Probably not a big deal to most on the forum, but any Irish fans will be aware of this. Rovers went to Israel last week and beat Bnei Yehuda 1-0 to qualify to play Juve in the next round. Huge game for Irish league football.

Come on the Hoops!

Didn't Shamrock hold Real to a 0-0 preseason game last year? Would love for them to do it to Juve too!

I'd have thought they'd have tried to move this game to a bigger stadium for increased revenue. Shame the Aviva isn't ready yet, would have been perfect.

I remember going to see Shelbourne play Deportivo in Lansdowne road in a Champions League qualifier in 2004 when Depor were good, the game finished 0-0, in front of a crowd of 24,000.

Tallaght Stadium only about 10 minutes from my house. Place should be buzzing when the game comes round.

its a shame they wont get to play in stadio del alpi with U2 already playing a gig in the stadium that night. would've been great for the players to get a match there even though it would be about 10% full.
shame aviva wasnt up and running properly because they could've switched it there like they did for the depor game. would've went to it if they did

Juve haven't played there for about 5 years cause they could never even half fill it. Game is being played in Modena which holds 22,000. Tallaght holds about 7,500 which is almost sold out, tickets went on sale to season ticket holders 1hr and 40 mins ago.

I'll be there next thursday hopin for a positive result, then goin on a one day trip over for the second leg.

I was there. Good atmosphere, even though we went 0-1 after 3 mins. Was hopin to have something to hang onto for the away leg but what can you do.
Glad to see Del Piero gettin a standin ovation when he came on!

Why did he get a standing ovation?

Because they have respect for him as a footballer who has played his entire career with the club he loves and he is one of the best players of the last 15 years. Fans with a little less class would have booed him and every other Juve player purely on the basis that they're the opposition.

Really? Del Piero was always the only Juve player I ever had much time for. Never liked the club, always liked him. A bit like Man U and Giggs.

Just scored a brilliant free kick from 35 yards in the return leg, after Rovers had held them scoreless for 75 mins. That was pure quality, a real throwback to the Del Piero of old.

It looked pretty impressive from where I was standing. That was the worst rain I've ever been out in. Typical continental stadium, all stands covered apart from they away section.
