During this match and probably every other match we have played during the Europa League I have been very disappointed with our overall performances. Our "2nd" team is nowhere near as good as the team we are seeing in the Premier League. Every game has been strewn with poor passing and individual errors. Unlike many people on here I do not see any of our youngsters ever coming through to make a real impact with the first team. In addition, a large number of our periphery players have shown to me that they are not good rnough either.

I'm sorry but what on Earth do you expect? We're not Citeh with half a Billion in International quality. NO ONE has a 2nd team as good as the first.

I kinda get your point, though I disagree with the conclusion. We have a group of youngsters who are showing signs that they have every reasonable chance to get an opportunity with Aitch.
Townsend, for me, has enough raw material there to shape into a decent player.
Livermore is already putting himself in the frame. Whilst he may not be a 'prodigious' talent, he too has qualities that can be molded. To date, I don't think I've seen him look totally out of place when playing. If anything he's looked more composed in each performance.
Carroll has shown touch, poise and quality when given a run. At times he's been found wanting but the good far outweighs the bad for a kid still growing!
Rose, I think most would agree, has already shown, prior to his injury, that he can step up to the next level as he deputised for Benny very well end of last season.
Kane I'd like to see now after getting a goal under his belt. Confidence can make an enormous difference.

I think there's a number who can make the step up. Familiarity, once they get there, will make all the difference.

Harsh in all honesty.

Townsend clearly has possibilities and was arguably the best player last night.
Livermore has more or less made it. And Rose before injury
Carroll, Kane,Falque, and Fredericks have all shown ability at times which means that they should not be written off.
Is Carroll injured?
