Also the capacity is at minimum 8,000. The away section in Tallaght Stadium is in the main stand. This stand is a concrete structure with full toilet and catering facilities. Entry into this section of the ground is quick and simple. There are plenty of pubs and resturants around tallaght although I would advise away suppoeryers to avoid the Maldron Hotel as it is full of (friendly) home support but overcrowded and Molloy's pub in rTallaght Village as it is full of Rovers small but hardcore bogey element!

So basically you can expect at least one toilet, and keep your hand on your wallet

TBH Tallaght is seen as a no go area by most Irish people. The reality, however, is far from this belief. Tallaght is a largely council owned community, but it is full of proud and respectable inhabitants.
Like every large community, there are areas which are best avoided. But for the most part any genuine Spurs supporter will find nothing but welcome support from all Rovers fans and Tallaght locals.
I would be happy to advise any fellow Spurs or foreign Rovers fan on the best spots for boozing or eating in Tallaght. Just ask the question or send me a PM.

Also, There is more than one toilet in the stadium!

Shame it won't be at a bigger stadium as I'm sure plenty of us Spurs fans fancied a trip to Ireland but I completely understand Shamrock wanting to play at their home ground. Hope they enjoy their Europa run and they finsh second in the group!

I'm a platinum member. Before this, I was thinking of not going, but now that it feels so exclusive... I just might!

Problem is.. we may well just put our reserves our for a boring 6-0 win... is it worth it? hmmm...

6.5k stadium, about 1k for spurs so that's 5.5k, 2 tickets for every season ticket holder & club member so add to that press & corporate freebies & doesn't look like non members have a chance. Will ring the club later to see how many season & club members there are but I'm guessing it'll be at least 2-2.5k.

Ah well tv 3 it is so

The capacity has been increased to 8,000. Which is the minimum capacity allowed for Europa league group stages. I'm not saying tickets will be available but it's not completely impossible.

Alternatively, seeing as you live in Dublin. You could buy a Europa league ticket from Shamrock Rovers, which covers all three home matches. From what I've heard it is likely to cost €70.

Also don't know if I've misread this, but he's a platinum member, which is actually a season ticket that includes away games, so I'm sure he's sorted haha

Yea they're 70 alright and will realistically be only chance of getting a ticket but missus wants to go as well so that's 140 so be cheaper for us to go to London with free accommodation over there & get a league game in.

Fuck it if my euromillions ticket is a winner sponsor rovers & get tickets that way

That stand reminds me of Craven Cottage. You get enough people jumping up and down and it feels like it is going to collapse.

Lads! I'm seeing some friends in Ireland this weekend, and it just so happens a few of them are big Rovers fans. AND they've got a home game tonight, so i'll be joining them in the stands :D No way im gonna be able to get tickets to our game here, so this will have to do. I'll let you know what it's like! :p

Edit: by the way this is a league match and is Rovers (who are top) against the team in third place. Ticket costs €15 :D

Yeah, we're playing Sligo Rovers tonight. Sligo won both the league and FAI cup last season. They beat us in the final on peno's. They're a good team, to be fair, they play more attractive football than rovers. Look out for Rohan Ricketts in centre midfield.

Someone on COYS who knows Michael O'Neill (Shamrock Rovers manager) says that the ground will be increased to 8/9k for Thursday and then increased again to about 12/13k for our game.

platinum covers all matches except european away and cup finals, (maybe semis at neutral grounds too, i dunno). though we get priority over gold and silver for seating at cup finals and away games anyway.

The full story is that my dad and I are sick of not being able to go to gooners away etc, so we decided to go platinum for 1 season, (we may well downgrade to gold/silver again after this season) just to rack up an absolute shizzleload of loyalty points. (gone from like 193 over 10 years to 1000 overnight), and then in future we should have enough points to go to whatever we want. it's very expensive obviously, but it's doable for one season now that i finally landed a job back in march.

but anyway, back to shamrock: i emailed the ticket office and asked how many platinum members they have, and the answer is 220. (maybe 10-20 more than this now), so I think this group will get a 1 or 2 day window to buy up the shamrock tickets.... though it remains interesting on just how much allocation we will get. i reckon they might up it to about 1k to 1500 and charge us a ridiculous bomb just to boost their coffers. corporate are gonna want a few hundred alone surely!

Not what we're about, it'll be €25 per ticket, same price for home and away supporters. As regards uping the capacity to 12,000, not too sure about that. One end of the ground, which backs onto the main road doesn't have a solid foundation so putting in another block of seats would contravene UEFA regulations. The game is 3 months away and i'm not saying that they won't do something in the meantime, but I doubt it.

i reckon it could be moved still. there is every chance that rovers will, for te next 4 or 5 weeks adamantly say they want to play at home, then they might admit safety issues/allow all fans to watch etc and then get it moved while also looking like a fan friendly club. it would all be about image.

i just can't see this happening at a ground that small! i used to work at barnet football club which could hold about 3 to 4 thousand, and a uefa cup game at that venue would be ridiculous. then again.. if it's reserves..

I admire your optimisim mate but get over it. The game is being played in Tallaght, end of story. It's not being played there because a small ground might give us the edge. It's being played there because its our home ground and that is where we want to play the game. We are one of only a couple of profitable clubs in our league, the Europa League will boost our coffers, but we will be fine without the money too. We don't see this an opportunity to make money, we see this as our club playing in a top European competition and we are going to enjoy this. The fans own and run the club, we're not shareholders, we don't profit from it, we pay to keep it afloat. This is grassroots football, football for footballs sake, not profit. No other club in Ireland has anywhere near our bank balance, but its not really that great an advantage. There's no use in being an enourmous fish in a small pond. We are part-time this year and we'll be part-time next year, regardless of Europa League outcome.

Was an interesting game haha! Rovers went down to 10-men in the second half, and then scored right after to make it 1-0. Then the other team got one back, and then another Rovers player got a straight red. Then in the last few mins, the opposition scored to win the game.

Needless to say, my Rovers friends weren't too happy haha. For one of them it will be his last home game for a while, as he's moving to London this week. I'm sure he'll be at the Lane for our home game against them though :p

Aside from the match though, the night out after was probably theeee best night i've ever had. So good!

Yeah atm they only use stands across the sides of the pitch, not behind the goals. However there is a new stand put in behind one of the goals that takes it up to 8k, and there is room for one behind the other goal i think, altho it didn't look like anything was gonna happen regarding that any time soon.

Not sure if I appreciate the random HaHa! Was there too and it has to be said that the standard of refereeing in Ireland is a joke. Still though, game in hand against Bray, win will put us top.

On a seperate note, our game against Kazan. Okay, we lost 0-3 but we gave a good account of ourselves. Our highest paid player gets less than €2,000 per week, Kazan bought a player recently for €17,000,000. Great atmosphere, you wouldn't have got that in Aviva. Game was a sell out, but there was easily over 1,000 empty seats, which basically means that Spurs will have 1,000 extra irish fans come december 15th on top of your own allocation. Recession:shrug:!

Anyway, great performance by the lads. I still believe that at least 4 points is not beyond us. Lookin forward to the game in two weeks, be a bit strange being in the away section at the lane, but lookin forward to the occasion. We seem to be spilt between covent garden and finsbury park for a base, reckon we'll have a crowd at both. Anyone in the area feel free to join us for a few beers, we're predominantly a friendly bunch and the not so friendly ones are easy enough to spot!

That ref was so biased. We saw the officials walking in as we were arriving, and my mate was like "that ref hates us, just watch..." lol..
