latest ITK has us to believe its either wright-phillips OR petrov and not both which is a shame

Tough to decide which one

However if its true that newcastle are sniffing around the chavs will sell to them. Wright-phillips also comes across as someone only in it for the money

What makes you think that? Whenever i've seen him interviewed he's come across as a really down to earth guy. And when he was on Rio Ferdinand's WC wind up show, he came across as incredibly humble. He just didn't seem like the money grabbing type. Also on KUMB they've been convinced that Wham agreed a fee with Chelsea a couple of weeks ago. I think that is quite likely, so if it was money he was after he'd have gone there.

Sorry Joey I know f-all about modern day football and the million pound superstars but if these bunch of bozos think they are the future of our international football team they are seriously deluded.

Every time they get a chance to do the biz - they spunk it.

But they are accepted by the red top banner newspapers who are so willing to knock them down if they don't succeed

Ferdinard's shows were canned, the present day players are all over-rated , overpaid and under-producers. (Basically because he is an under-educated twat in an over compensated life)

The other couple of Chelsea muppets Lampost & Terry have been mouthing off in the press about they want moves and mucho money - what have they given us ? Feck-all
but just like the government its all bullshit and mirrors

CHELSEA are trying to freeze out Tottenham in their attempt to land Shaun Wright-Phillips.

Spurs have tabled an £11million bid and the winger is keen to link up with boss Martin Jol.

But Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon hopes to avoid selling as he believes Spurs will become title rivals in future seasons.

And, over the last week, Kenyon has refused to take calls from White Hart Lane officials hoping to complete a deal.

Aston Villa have tried to sign Wright-Phillips, 25, with Manchester City and West Ham also interested.

yeah a few of the papers are saying this...which doesn't surprise me.
I personally don't think he will be at WHL cos
a) he's on tour with chealsea in the US and set up a goal
b) you need a squad to win the title and although maybe not 1st choice he is an importtant squad man esp when cole and robben have been injured a lot
c) why sell to your rivals

Sounds like a Sun re-hash job to me. There was a story not so long ago about them considering us rivals (maybe during the Duff transfer) and not selling to us. Personally I think it is just papers talking.

The pressure for him to move will hopefully come from the player himself and from Abramovich wanting the club to fund itself. SWP hardly got a look in last season (not in the high profile games anyway) due to their diamond midfield shape and Robben being the preffered winger/striker option. They have since signed Malouda and Joe Cole is coming back to fitness so his options have actually decreased!

I would imagine that Chelsea are trying to drag West Ham or Villa into the bidding to drive the price up, which is fair enough.

If SWP joins us I think we have a serious chance of breaking the top 4. The DM position may still be a problem but at least we have options there. When Lennon is injured, suspended or knackered we have no decent backup, so SWP would be an incredible signing.

A point on Robben going. Surely it works the other way, if SWP goes then Robben will stay?

Possible New Signings

I think SWP would be a great signing for us, would give competition to Lennon and give us more flexibility - I believe both could play on both sides.

Will be even better if we sign SWP & Petrov - would give us more options and MJ could rest important players for big games - something we have tried to do in the past buit failed.

New season is looking good for the Yids.

Got to do better than last season in league - to have any chance of keeping Berbs at club for a few more years.

Buying SWP can only be good and I dont belive that we will have to get rid of Lennon after all Lennon played on the left for most of last season
