I think it's cheating to keep changing this thread's name in order to make it the longest thread in Spurs Community history. I refuse to contribute.

Ramsey and Ferdinand are going with Tim to West Brom apparently.
Will be sorry to see Ramsey go, but if Les is umming and ahhing about leaving I will drive down from Yorkshire and take him to f**king Birmingham if it will help make his mind up.

Understand Tim Sherwood move to #WBA could be scuppered by Daniel Levy. Despite sacking him, he wants compensation for he & Les Ferdinand.

HAHA. Christ almighty- Levy leaves no stone unturned...

I think this journalist knows nothing here.

It is far more likely any hold up is over compensation for Les and particularly Ramsey, they are still under contract at Spurs with Ramsey being regarded as a top youth coach it is absolutely right that Levy demands compensation.

I hope Tim is forced to leave Ramsey behind.

Levy has every right to get compensation for Les and Ramsey to be fair...

It isn't forcing Tim to leave Ramsey behind, it's forcing Ramsey to stay (if he wants to follow and if he wants to, there is fuck all Levy can do about it.) And club can't demand much of an compensation either. He isn't a player and if he walks, he walks and any possible outcome regarding compensation is tied to his wages, which probably aren't that much.

Seems pretty definite that the obstacle to Tim taking the job at WBA is him holding out for decent wages for Chris and Les.

Tim won't get WBA job. Heard a Scotsman will get it. Maybe unexpected
Alan Irvine the Everton’s academy manager. I think it is because WBA won't pay the bill for Tim to bring Les and Ramsey with him.

I guess Tim makes a good decision this time. WBA is a mess now

Wasn't by choice. WBA didn't want Tim. They wanted a pure coach & decided against Tim as he wanted to bring a coach in instead of coaching himself

Alan Irvine has done a good 3 years at Everton now under two capable managers and has overseen a very good youth side, in that time he will have improved as a manager from his last unsuccessful stint one would think. He wasn't great with Sheff Wed, but who has been over the past 15 years? He was pretty good at Preston though, came close to getting them promoted if I recall correctly when they'd been fighting relegation the previous season until he took over, and I seem to remember his sacking off the back of a poor start to the next season being seen slightly contraversially considering his previous good work.

It's a strange one but he's got a decent amount of experience, some success to speak of and a good grounding in the last few seasons at Everton, not to mention he is actually a qualified coach, so I think they've done better than if they'd hired Tim.

I assume that if Tim is applying for posts he must have completed his coaching badges over the summer.
No, he hasn't. The pro licence isn't something you can do over a summer. It takes about 18 months.
Tim has committed to do the course which means that he has been granted a temporary exemption from the rule

Not sure what nonsense I've spoken. Merely pointed out the positive in him that are evidently there. Haven't called him the appointment of the centure, just looking at the logic that would have gone into appointing him. That's all I or anyone else can do when assessing these situations where we're not privy to the machinations and intrigue of the process involved.

And yes, had we appointed him, I would say the above as I'd be looking at the logic in bringing him in. That doesn't mean I'd be happy, I wouldn't. I'd be appalled. But, as a SUPPORTER of this club, my duty is to SUPPORT first and foremost, and that means looking for the logic in any of our actions before decying them as lunacy. As Eric_S implied below, though, us and WBA are on a totally different playing field and have totally different aspirations. That said, for both their cause and ours, Irvine is a better option than the unqualified, inexperienced and publically volatile Sherwood.

Are you suggesting we are on the same level as wba?
