To be fair to Ramos, he only complained in public long after being fired, and even then I'm not sure AVB has at all?

I would guess it is the first time anyone in England has bothered interviewing Ramos since the gagging clause in his pay off settlement expired

It is mostly ITK in AVB's case, but he came close to confirming the rumour that he was unhappy with the summer
transfer dealings in his final press conference.

He seems sensible and pretty level headed. When you hear him talking about the game as a whole or a game in particular you can understand him quite clearly and in most parts agree with him

I hope our great leader is sensible in the summer but I fear Tim may not be complicated enough for Dan!!

One of Sherwood's best points is that he is more than happy with a squad of players that he did not himself assemble. In his opinion we have sufficient quality to be getting on with; in fact he does not want anyone else in until he has finished assessing the players he has. Compare this with the likes of Ramos and AVB, complaining they could not do their job because the board did not spunk gazillions to get the superstars they demanded.

One other impressive characteristic is that he will let the team know that they simply haven't been good enough, even with a win as the end result.

Lennon has been a fixture in the team for nigh on a decade, under five managers. AVB would rush him straight back after injury. Ramos in his recent interview singled Lennon out as our danger man.

Most likely Aaron's going to be with us another decade yet, regardless of who is manager. Live with it.

Fans might not always appreciate him, but if you are an opposing defender his is the first name you look for on the team sheet. For all his deficiencies his acceleration is terrifying.
Chadli its that easy, we looked better when he played against Barcodes deal with it.

He came on and scored a great goal and played well in the 15 mins he was on but you cant judge him in that game because newcastle had given up the ghost by then

Great post, not only that he done it at a time when he's almost auditioning for the job, so he could easily have come out and said something along the lines of needing this or needing that. Instead he just said on a number of occasions we need the boys back from injury, that is all. I loved the comment he made about not wanting to collect players as we have if anything too many and would only ever be interested in players would straight away improve the first 11. That for me with a squad our size is exactly how we should be thinking, we don't need anymore of the same quality, we need better than what we have and if come the summer we can keep our best and only sign 1 or 2 to improve the team, great.

So far in my eyes he's done a great job, all this tactical nonsense some people spout about, Sherwood clearly knows his football better than any of us and i like his style of approach. The test of course will be when we hit a bad run and how he copes with it himself and how he gets the group to cope with it, but i feel confident about him in that situation, he certainly doesn't have the air of a man who will panic or hide.

I think there's going to be a lot of disappointed people in the Summer as they might not get what they want, i hope so.

Chadli still deserves a run of games over lennon.

IMO lennon or townsend must play, their speed scares defenders. If chadli starts over both of them we are seriously lacking pace and will have no threat turning or getting behind opposition defenses.

Rather have townsend on the left than lennon.

I love the way the titles on Tim Sherwood have changed over the weeks he's been in charge.

I think the early ones 'Sherwood Out' on the day he was appointed and 'Sherwood - tactically inept' a day or two later sum up the early ones general thrust.

This one with the more respectful title 'The Tim Sherwood debate' presumeably reflects 7 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss in Pl since his appointment.

And this thread seems to now stop discussing Tim Sherwood, and instead focuses on his use of various players etc - like many other threads.

Seems like Sherwood is part of the Spurs furnoture now !

How long until "Sir Tim Sherwood - Tottenham's greatest ever manager"?

Hmmm and if Soldado had taken CPs penalty?
We were lucky, but every team needs a little luck, even the great ones.
If Tim keeps going with Lennon its good bye.
You live and die by your mistakes.

I just don't believe CP missed their penalty because of luck. The player they chose to take it scored one the week before, he just didn't have the bottle and thats as big a factor as skill - a penalty is not a game of chance.

How many times did Defoe miss and pen and you thought "oh well unlucky mate...... 50-50, what you gonna do?"

I don't think Lennon is a noose around Tims neck but i agree he has other options who seem fit and eager to impress right now. Dropping Dawson showed he is not sentimental about these kinds of thing and will do the best thing he thinks for the team on the day. I believe Lennon will have to pick it up (albeit i don't think he was by any means 'bad' on Wednesday) or he will lose his spot in the side.

Why do Spurs fans have to 'pick' on players. Lennon has been good this season, like most of our players. He has played throughout the 10 games of Tim and tracked back countless times supporting Walker. He also hit he post, was unlucky a fine defensive tackle denied him a goal. Get off our players back FFS

No it reflects me being fed up with merging about 20 threads saying the same things and was done ages ago.

I reckon another three games. And when he hits a bad patch it'll take roughly the same number of games for him to start being called a dunderheaded tosspot. From legend to **** in three games flat. That's how SC rolls.

He has got all the players pulling together . The dramatic transformation of Adebayor, the introduction of Bentaleb , the re-integration of Capoue ( ignoring his deadline day criticism of the English ) and now promising signs from Chadli are all positive things. The way the players are responding to his man management skills in contrast to AVB are reminiscent of Redknapp coming in for Ramos. He has been flexible over tactics with the realization that we do at least sometimes need a holding midfielder. I think he is willing to learn when he makes mistakes .

Now I have to say that if De Boer wanted to come he would still be my number 1 choice. I just think he already has the knowledge, tactical skills, connections and management skills that Tim is still acquiring. But other than him I see no reason to look for a replacement. Even if we dont make CL. To expect him to deliver or else get fired is not realistic.
