Pretty sure it would be more beneficial for him to go into our youth system, with occasional first team training sessions, than go out on loan. He's going to be pretty raw and I imagine they'll be looking at quite a few tweaks to get him ready for Premiership football in future years.

Yeah I understand that .. I just wasn't (aren't) sure how raw this lad is, or how much development he's actually going to require.

That's why I'm so grateful to everyone on here who is able to keep us (those who live far away) updated, or give us info on players we have no chance of seeing. It really is the only way for us to get any worthwhile info on the lesser reported aspects of our club

Thing is, mid table PL teams like West Brom are relatively cash rich now thanks to the crazy TV deals. I get the impression Levy still thinks we can just nick their best players for a half decent fee. Doesn't work like that anymore.

Wow 6 pages for a player that none of us know about? We've had a few trialists this season that we've signed but none got this much attention. Am i missing something?

I think it's a combination of a few factors.

1. This was a transfer that was mooted at the beginning of the transfer window when their was very little activity with other clubs and the media talked it up because they had nothing else to talk about. It became a story because they needed something but I agree it really should not have done I doubt it's amazingly helpful for the player.

The way the British press are it wouldn't surprise me if they are talking him up knowing that if he doesn't break through in a couple of years they can write the 'whatever happened to player x' articles'. They always need copy it's easy stuff.

2. The rise of Dele Alli and Jamie Vardy has created a media interest in lower league players and he was simply the first one they could latch onto.

If that run is anything to go by, we'll be set if we ever compete against cardboard cut outs, the defending looked like something from a Benny Hill sketch.
