Just watching first half of Mexico v Sth Africa Gio was amazing so far for 45 mins. I really want to see him at the lane next season. What do you think?

I expect him to have a great World Cup tbh. He always does well for Mexico. The big question is, why hasn't he made it happen for himself with us? I would love him to reach his potential with Spurs, but he really needs to want to work hard for it.

If he shows the right attitude, then yes. Otherwise, no.

Man of the match so far. Of his talent there is no question but same old questions with answers that nobody can ever prove:

1. Is he really really a terrible party boy ?
2. Has Harry already completely washed his hands of him ?

Dear Lord, I was half expecting this thread at some stage but not this early. You have hit the nail on the head in that you say that you have watched the first half.

Judging Gio's performance over a whopping 45 minutes and deciding that he is brilliant and must return is a bit silly really. I'm not saying he is crap and shouldn't return but we have to view this with clarity. Whilst he has looked good (although not as fantastic as some seem to think) this has been for one half against South Africa in an international match. Away to Bolton on a miserable January Saturday afternoon is an altogether different matter.

So should he come back to the Lane? I'll reserve judgement but he would need to prove a lot more than his ability to dribble a ball in South Africa. things like teamwork, temperament etc. ultimately we also have to ask if we actually need him, no matter how good. After all, we did alright this season without him.

He's been OK, not amazing. I havent got a bloody clue if he should come back or not, but i get the feeling its already been decided, all the world cup will do is change his price if he goes.

If he does come back it should be, as Michaelden, as a striker. Will he score enough goals playing that role? I have my doubts.

I am also judging him on the limited performances he's made for us in which I think he's done ok. If anyone can get the best from him I think 'arry can

Unfortunately Harrys loving cuddles are only for players who are prepared to do the work.

Chris Waddle on the radio thinks harry should start on the left him judging by this performance and also said the only thing he needs to learn is to go back

I think he deserves another chance to prove himself ie from start of season till Jan transfer window. IMO he has the potential to become a flair Spurs player that we all love.

I thought he was pretty average. Reminded me of Walcott.

Started well, but drifted out the game. He's got quick feet and and a sweet left peg, we knew that. Work rate still needs to improve.

Yes he should, if it doesnt work out after a decent spell out on loan then let him move on.

As I said elsewhere, Mexico in the 1st half was Gio + 10 clowns and in the 2nd half it was 11 clowns.

He completely lost in the 2nd half; and if the S Africans and nudge him off the ball at will, he'll not stand a chance in the PL.

Haha, they're nothing alike at all.

He didn't "lose it" in the 2nd half either, he wasn't as effective for sure, but still had some good moments, took a good save to stop his shot going in.
