Should we prioritise the Premier league?

Should we prioritise the Premier league over Europe?

We'll rotate for sure. Luckily(unlike under Harry) it diesn't matter who is in the first 11 the team still operates to the same philosophy due to good coaching. So it should give a good chance of being a success in all competitions.
Except when we play the same team in both comps then the team does take their foot off the gas during europa

I enjoy EL footie, and I think we should aim at beating Fiorentina and advance to the next round. As things stand, we could overtake Olympiacos on the UEFA ranking, aiding our seeding for CL next season.
And of course, if we want to play CL next season, why not continue in EL, now that things are getting interesting?

When we're in the champions league we'll get the benefit of more favorable fixture patterns. Saturday Tuesday Sunday Wednesday etc.
The no-hoper league is nothing but a 2nd rate competition bloated by rubbish in the group stage and champions league rejects in the knock outs.

I don't see why we can't go for both as we have the squad depth. Harry is the only worry though really isn't he?

No need to prioritise at all. It's the reason you have a squad, and all the players are quoted as wanting to keep going in all of them, enjoying playing lots of games and challenging on multiple fronts. One game at a time.

For Fiorentina, they struggle with pace and well timed runs cutting in from the side and their Central midfield is technically sound but physically weak, so I think players that can close down quickly and move the ball forward with speed would be beneifical as well as forward players with good quick movement.

Personally, I think we should go with a front 4 and cm 2 consisting of the below for the fist leg. The CBs we have to play the same 2 for now in all games IMO and FBs, I feel comfortable whoever plays, as long a s we rotate as we have been.

Chadli
Alli Mason Son
Carroll Bentaleb
The below for the FA Cup v Palace

Kane
Eriksen Lamela
Dembele Dier
The below for the 2nd leg v Fiorentina

Chadli
Son Mason Lamela
Carroll Bentaleb
The below for Swansea

Kane
Eriksen Alli Lamela
Dembele Dier
If we get past Fiorentina (and I think the 2 teams above will), then we have the below games after EL games.

Villa (A) or FA Cup Quarter Final
Bournemouth (H)

Man Utd (H)
Stoke (A)

Chelsea (H)
Southampton (H)

If we make the Quarter Final of the EL, then we play a EL game after 4 of last 5 games.

I voted for us to prioritise the league, but what I really mean is that I'd like to see us rotate the squad against Fiorentina, and the same in the following round if we get through.

I'd only really like to see us go full strength if we get to the semi-finals.

I'd also prioritise the FA Cup over the EL.

The FA Cup should be the lowest of our priorities, tbh. Especially now that it seems likely we'll get top 4. We need to be able to handle CL, PL, CL weeks. So we should use these as practice for that.

Plus, It is absolutely imperative that we stay in the competition for the Premier Leagues sake, which in effect is actually our sake too. Especially since we're fighting every season to make CL. It is important that the PL retains that 4th CL spot as long as possible. We likely wont lose it this year but next year we probably will which means that when we open the new stadium, getting 4th wont even be enough and we'll have to get 3rd. It will just be that much more difficult to really progress onto that next level.

Person I worry about is Dier, odds are he'll play every game this month because we lack another prem ready CB.

Given the choice I'd rather win the League, no contest. I also think its more winnable than the Europa anyway.

But that doesn't mean I'd make sweeping changes giving it little consideration, we should continue to take it very seriously and aim to do as well in it as possible. Winning games breeds a winning mentality, simple as that.

We've a young squad who are committed to playing the way our manager demands and they want to prove themselves. We've got good quality in depth covering most positions so we're strong enough to treat all competitions seriously without having to clearly deprioritize one of them.

Should a situation present itself where we have to make some tough choices than the League should edge it in terms of priority, however things can change so we need to continue to assess a number of factors as the season progresses.

I honestly believe we've a good chance of going far in all competitions but Poch must use the squad - something he has been doing and will continue to do so I think - and we've got enough quality options to cope IMO.

I think Poch should have done better here especially in regards to Dier & Eriksen. I Agree with the rest of your post though.

So if we are playing rubbish and rejects it shouldn't be too difficult for us to win it .

I think we always have "prioritised" the league to an extent. Certainly we rotated in other full backs and other squad players, but we never sacrificed it and I don't see why we need to.

By having kept the spine and rotating the rest we have ended up with some real depth and are rarely weakened at all now.

I add the weight of see what happens in two weeks, but I hope we continue to have this dilemma for as long as possible.

Its way too early to prioritize anything.Suppose we beat Palace & get a WBA or Blackburn or Reading in subsequent round, we keep going.Same for Europa. We are optimistic now because we have won 6 games in a row in all competition. Had we thrown the cup, we may not have same confidence.

Lets not forget, our season petered out in space of a week, when we lost to Chelsea in cup & Florentina in EL. Lets play Mancity away & Aresenal at home (March 5). After Arsenal game, if we are in realistic position to win the league & we are in all 3 competition, then depending on the draws in cups, we can priroitse, if need be.
