This is a fight to the death I want to see. Best way to decide who's allowed to sit on our bench.

The jury is still out on Sissoko but atm I'm happy with both and both seem to offer something more than Chadli. Think Son is vastly the better player in terms of ability and would be right up there, if he takes out the sloppyness out of his game. With Sissoko, however, we appear much more balanced and adds a much needed direct outlet to our play. As I say happy with both. The problem with our front four really comes down to an over reliance on Eriksen having a good game. We need compitition.

I think a lot of people probably got it right that they are different styles of player for different situations. I think Sissoko's run has been against opposition where we would expect to dominate and the way his confidence has grown since Man U/Swansea he is now a really useful player for us.

Son, I think can be a brilliant player on his day but he has some real stinkers too. Can say the same for Eriksen, both need to be more aggressive in possession which is what Sissoko is doing differently now.

I think the big game is the Chelsea game and, injuries pending, it will be interesting to see how we line up in that one.

Son every day over Sissoko.

What I see is people overreacting to basic performances from Sissoko. Sure he isn't making any crazy mistakes but for me he is doing as he should. Nothing special and not the goal threat that Son is.

My two cents.

To be fair a lot of posters had written off Son and were happy for us to accept the big money offer from Germany in the summer.

Different players for different situations. Both stretch opposition defences more than our other attacking midfielders, both offer more pace than our other attacking midfielders and both inject some directness into our play. However, neither is overly aware or anticipatory, both can flummox with their decision making and both are erratic in possession.

Son is definitely more of a goal scorer, he is far more willing to shoot for a start and very single minded in his will to get into the box. Sissoko however has more brawn, is harder to dispossess under pressure and can actually pick both a pass and a cross quite well. In the old days of 442 Sissoko would definitely have been stuck out on the right wing while Son would have been deployed off a target man in a front two.

Both of their issue is getting regular enough game time. Eriksen and Dele are clearly seen as vital, even off form, so are allowed to play themselves back into form. Kane too of course. Therefore, in a fully fit squad these two are really competing with Lamela and Nkoudou for one spot. I think at this point they and Lamela are pretty close in status with Nkoudou having the most work to do, but we really need one of these four to raise their game to match the contribution of Eriksen and Alli. Trouble is, unless you have Bale levels of talent (and even he needed some fortune with injuries) that's very hard to do without the trust to play ever game and gel with the team.

Sissoko is our only attacking player who has the ability to run past defenders with ease.

Different styles of players for different situations. It's almost as though we have added players that offer multiple tactical and selection options dependent on the opposition...
It's not almost it is exactly what we have done.
Obvious example was against Southampton, Pochottino played Sissoko from the start but when they made a triple substitution to push for the equaliser Poch swapped him for Son because he would be better when the chances inevitably came to hit them on the break and it worked perfectly.

Son is more dynamic and flexible player but Sissoko is just a powerhouse a big fuck off bulldozer.

Maybe Sissoko could do a Vardy. Go from a quick runner, who couldn't hit the target, into a goal scoring machine, for one season.....and then back again.

It's pretty even atm and right now the last position is up for grabs. Son had a chance against Watford but wasn't very good and it feels like it's 50/50 depending on the opponent who starts.

Both really need to work on their first touch. It's below PL standard and it's holding them back, especially Son. Son is really good at getting in good positions, he has that instinct to make the run. He especially seems to play well with Eriksen finding him in good positions.

But Son makes it so much harder for himself because his first touch is awful. I have no idea how he can have such a bad first touch. He would be 100% starter if he had the first touch of Eriksen, Kane or Dele. It's like every chance gets much more difficult to finish for him because his first touch is so poor. He could easily have scored a goal against Watford if his first touch and finishing was better. It's frustrating for everyone.
