In all probability talking to myself here, but what the hey...

A great Mathews catch off Kula's bowling dismisses Brendam McCullum just as he was looking dangerous, in the early stages of this first T20 International on American soil.

And Jayasuriya is thankfully dropped so we are giving ourselves a chance!

well we lost the first one and hence any chance of winning the 2 match series. shame cause the crowd was mostly sri lankan and subcontinent diaspora.

we had them at 51-3 after 10, they went on to 120 and that turned out to be a par score on a low, slow pitch that offers little chance to hit boundaries. just 2 sixes in the whole match. we collapsed to 92 all out with only two batsmen (sanga and angelo) reaching double figures.

the 2nd game is on now, it's innings break and we got them all out for 81. surely we can't fuck this up from here, even though we've re-included sanath so we have only the 9 wickets in our batting order. incidentally he bowled one over and went for 12 runs in an innings where NZ averaged 4.1818 runs/over against all the other bowlers. no sixes at all and half the fours coming in that one jayasuriya over, thanks again mister MP

kula finished with figures of 3 1 4 3 (O M R W respectively) and a run out in his overs too

Has Jayasuriya made any noises about retirement? Surely, he's surplus to requirements for Sri Lanka.

Pointless series really, the game will never take off in the States.

worse than surplus to requirements, he is taking the place of useful players, for e.g. upul tharanga.

he has stated his desire to play in the 2011 world cup
