Everyone calm the fuck down and wait till Saturday before losing your shit. If Sherwood divides by zero and picks Defoe then believe me my head will be the first to explode. I'm pretty confident however that Sherwood's got this.

In the meantime have some Adebayor and some floof!

I'm pissy because I don't like seeing us lose. I really don't like seeing us lose to West Ham. I really really don't like seeing us lose to West Ham's reserves and most of all I don't like seeing us knocked out of a cup by West Ham's reserves.

There was no reason for it if we'd played our best players and a more solid setup.

On top of that, sacking the last manager with no plan in place to go forward with another manager has left me disillusioned in general.

Was he sacked?

The best informed reports suggest not.

Given the current predicament, sacking a manager that had long term plans and the players on his side without a replacement, it does definitely lend itself to saying we should have stuck with AVB though. Though many may not have liked the rudder we had with AVB, at least it was one, now w'ere rudderless.

I think Levy would have liked AVB to be a long term option but I'm not sure that AVB ever saw it like that. He made no secret of having plans beyond Spurs - managing in other countries; getting out of football altogether. I can't blame him for that but I don't think that we should pretend that he would have been our Ferguson or Wenger. I think it unlikely that he would have stayed more than three years. And it's quite possible that he would have moved of his own volition at the end of this season.

My dad says that talksport today were reporting that De Boer has said he has been contacted by Tottenham

Is this true? I told him that all I had heard was that De Boer or his representatives had said there had been no contact - so I am not sure if he has simply misinterpreted what he heard or if there has been new information released since what I read on skysports.com

Ok with the most minimal of effort I can answer my own question

Well losing by the odd goal certainly feels a lot better than losing by 3 5 or 6 goals even if it's not the result you want.
Would you really be as happy losing games by wider margins?

Christ, Barry Mead & Acton Spur in the same week. It really is Christmas.

Yes Barry, I'd be delighted.

Thanks for asking mate.

I trust you're well.

You know who you are:

You got everything you wanted: AVB gone, fast pace, open play, Adebayor in and two up front.

Are you happy NOW?

What next? Burn down the Lane? Sack all the players? Maybe next time you'll THINK before opening your mouths at least!

Who said they wanted Tim Sherwood? Anyone..... Hello?

The thing that does worry me is that, if we were going to get rid of a manager who, although laden with limitations, wasn't actually doing terribly (results wise at least), then you'd expect there to be a plan in place with regards to replacing him fairly quickly.

Now obviously it might be the case that we are working hard behind the scenes to bring someone in, but unlike previous managerial appointments it's very unclear that that is the case. If we're just waiting to see how Sherwood gets on then that, for me, is a terrible terrible decision and I suspect it's that concern that has triggered some of the OTT reactions to last night's game.

I can cope with Sherwood pissing about with his 4-4-2 for a couple of games whilst we bring someone else in. But if there isn't really a long term plan in place then I'll be very concerned.

Either way Sherwood is going to be in charge for the SCBC game and I hope he learns his lesson from last night otherwise we'll be in for a hiding against a team that has been very good at keeping the ball this season.

Which suggests that AVB wasn't given the boot but did a Fruitini and caught us on the hop, as this time we don't have a Martin Jol ready to step in.
