If this deal backfires, I can see us recalling Sarr from Metz. in fact, they should still recall Sarr even if this deal goes through. I don't have faith in Winks, Skipp, PEH staying healthy and suspension free for the rest of the season.

I doubt we can. Surely the transfer was to include a season loan.

We won't know that until he plays. No guarantee that Amrabat will settle in the EPL either. Sarr will be in the squad for the pre-season, why not bring in him now and help him get settled for the remainder of the season? If we're being honest , he's definitely going to offer more than Tanguy, Dele and GLC.

I spoke to a player who has played against Sarr, this and last season, and he doesn't think he's ready for the PL. Says he's too skinny and would get eaten alive.

The facf that Sarr has spent a lot of time on the bench and struggled at time in Ligue 1, which is also a physical league, lends to that.

Perhaps that should be done anyway. I don't know that he's being played regularly where he still is, so he might as well come to Spurs now and see if we could get him known to the squad and playing as and when.

I feel like the Amrabat situation very neatly sums up why stuff happens so late in the January transfer window.

We speak to him and line up a deal but don't confirm it until we're sure nothing better comes along. Then with 2 days left of the window we push for Bentancur instead and poor old Sofyan doesn't get his move.

It depends. If we play with 2 CMs then the four we will have in Skipp, PEH, Winks and Bentacur may be enough. No European football now remember.

We lack cover for Davies and Dier in defence.
