Twelve thrilling seconds were all it took for Son Heungmin to take the ball from his own 18-yard box and find the net at the other end. The goal showcased everything that has led Tottenham Hotspur fans to fall in love with their Korea Republic star, with pace, power, persistence and clinical finishing all on show.

Nice

Yottenham forward Son Heung-min: "Great, great! It was so nice - when I got the ball, I tried to pass, received it in my own box, couldn't find any option and started to dribble, and after two seconds was in front of the goal - it was such a surprise, such a beautiful goal.

"They (my team-mates) should give me more options... I am joking! I made a great run, great goal, so I am grateful for my team-mates as well.

"After I scored, I didn't realise it was that amazing - after the game, I watched it again, and was thinking 'wow, this is something special'.

"During the game you focus, afterwards I was so surprised that I was so far away, so many people around me. It was an amazing feeling."

Good for him. Congratulations Sonny!

This will be controversial, but great as this goal was, I'm not a huge fan of the push and run the length of the field type goals. They largely rely on pace. Give me a technical volley any day of the week. In my opinion, the Shamrock Rovers goal was better, a simply outrageous bit of skill.

I kind of agree, I think Son's was an extraordinary goal and deserving to win but technically, Shirley Cruz's goal for me is superb, it'd be quite easy to mistime it, arriving over otherplayers, yet it's struck so sweetly.
Ya man Kampana, it's a bit hit and hope but by God its hit hard ☄

Shame on the BBC for not mentioning it in the Sports news this morning...more interested in the woke agenda rather than talking about actions on the pitch. It is time that this fat cat organisation is shut down.

My first visit to the new stadium and the one game I got to see last season travelling from Denmark. 5-0 and Son's Puskas (y)
