Hi guys and ladies.....

I am not sure if this is the right place to put this but please redirect if necessary. Anyway, I live in Cape Town and would be willing to offer some accommodation for the World Cup. I live close to the stadium as well as the airport but I would provide any info if needed. I may be contacted via spurs community or via telephone on 002721 5924669 which is my home phone or 002783 794 0120 (cell). However, I don't want to sound biased or discriminate against anyone but my preference would be for Spurs supporters and family only. Obviously, I will not be killing you guys with the rates as some people intend to do but that is something again that can be discussed.

I am south african and it is for the comment above that i have not offered a room or cottage for the upcoming world cup.

what you are going to have in the coming months is loads of people trying to make a fast buck. judging by the original posters phone numbers they are south african linked. i am in no way vouching for him though.

You guys will have to be very careful if you are coming this way and don't want to be charged the exorbitant rates that the hotels are gonna charge. many south africans will be offering their homes ar a room for this exact purpose.

anyhow any advice wanted i am available to assist fellow spurs supporters coming out this way on areas or places to stay.

yeah not an appropriate term to use considering the violent society we live in. However there are many hotels, car rental agencies etc, who have quadrupled their prices for that period.

:shrug:T'was a joke (p'rhaps in bad taste) specifically relating to the fact that I altered the text of his post - didn't you notice?

I have a friend in Botswana and his wife is from Cape Twon - he assures me that visiting the in-laws is like...actually, on second thoughts, better not:grin:

Yup got the joke bit, i just feel that the original poster should not have used the Kill bit (rip off) may have been more appropriate. Also the joke was not in bad taste either.

Thanks pal for the vote of confidence. Anyway, I don't want any bank details and I am definitely not trying to rip you off. I left my contact details and would definitely not do that if that was my intention. Again, please feel free to even mail me on [email protected] for any other further concerns or enquiries. I don't have a fancy mansion or even a big house but can provide a decent roof over your head if interested.

Oops forgot to mention, look for me on Spursbook at www.spursfcning.com or check the April magazine after our Carling Cup win against Chelsea where there is a picture of the South African supporters celebrating. I am the one with the special kit of our 125th anniversary on and my little daughter is standing in front of me.

It is pretty much common knowledge in South Africa at the moment that a lot of people are offering accommodation at their houses as the hotels are basically doubling their normal prices.

So if anyone is going it would be worth your while getting in touch with this guy and checking it out at least.

This would have been ideal for me and my friend as we were pretty much guaranteed tickets for games out there so thank you for the offer any way TotsFan, however the flights out there we found to be ludicrously expensive so i think we are going to give this world cup a miss.

If you're not going to go I imagine there are plenty of people on here who would happily relieve you of your tickets if you can still get them.

you can still get cheap flights - they may not be direct, or with the best airlines in the world.. but you can still get a return flight for around £700.

Sorry, Totsfan, this probably makes you remember that no good intention is going to go unpunished / not pissed over . Take it as a joke. I guess.
