I know, we just need to time, Pooch needs time and yes I know, I get stressed at him, but that is because I want him to succeed and I dont think playing a 4-2-3-1 will suits us for now.

We looked a lot better in the second when we switched to 4-3-3 I felt, with bentaleb and Dembele pushing forward, Stabouli sitting back and the other, it felt like

Eriksen --------- Soldado --------- Townsend

Bentaleb --------------- Dembele
Stambouli
IMO.

For 4-2-3-1 you surely have to have wide players who will contribute a decent number of goals, and neither Townsend and Lennon do that (Lennon's actually a pretty clinical finisher, but only rarely gets into scoring positions); Lamela will, in theory, but hasn't in practice so far. That leaves Chadli.

Everton were very very poor
Haven't seen the game yet but I heard Koeman made 7 changes from the side that lost to Sheffield Utd in the week with Schneiderlin and Wanyama both serving suspensions. It's still a good result whether Everton were crap or not. Maybe Southampton made them look bad?

I don't think Southampton have had their bubble burst as such - I think they were just in a false position and things are starting to level off somewhat

I think they'll end up in or around the top 6 this year, or at least challenging for it (could go as low as 9-10 but be within touching distance of the top 6 points wise)

They were never going to be a top four team this year

I think Everton have been exposed and are suffering from trying to juggle Europa

At this stage it looks like West Ham are the best equipped of the surprise package teams to sustain their form - I don't think they'll win a CL place by any means but they are getting results and look hard to beat. Effective is the best way to describe them and I think they're an outside shot to win a Europa place in the league this year (though I hope they crumble and tumble down the table back where they belong asap)

West Ham could lose Kouyate, Sakho and Song to the ANC. They'd miss games against Hull, Utd and Liverpool. Fat Sam is worried this could be costly. Hope so.

Southampton are fine.
Everton fans could be looking for good divorce lawyer though!

Agree with that. They have Chelsea and Arsenal coming up but in January they have a reasonable set of fixtures. They may be top 4 for a good while.

Another 3 goals for Southampton away at Palace who we could't score against at home and were fortunate not to lose to.

Just noticed this post. I was just gonna ask who will finish the highest-WHU or Soton?

Song hasn't been picked for Cameroon since the World Cup and won't feature in the ACN either. So WHAM dodge a bullet there.

Have to give it to the Saints - they're smashing it

Outstanding how well they're performing with the limited spending they've had

Third in the table and by no means looking in a false position - if anything they've been unlucky not to have more points when they've deserved more out of matches

Disappointing that we didn't win yesterday because we'd have made ground on Man Utd and keep in touch with Saints and Arsenal - now we've failed to gain on Utd, let Arsenal leap frog us and Southampton extend their league over us
