To borrow a quote from Bill Nicholson...

"It is better to fail aiming high than to succeed aiming low. And we of Spurs have
set our sights very high, so high in fact that even failure will have in it an echo of glory."

Poch moulding this young and exciting group into a team with real belief in itself. This side will get better as it matures in the coming months, and seasons.

Who dares wins!

I think we are in with a chance. However, when a newspaper starts talking up our chances of the title, it can only be in the hope of gloating in the event should we fail. It's what they always do and for that reason alone I agree with Poch's attitude of 'one game at a time' and see where we are with 10 games to go.

I for one think we can win the title THIS year !!.
What helps is the teams above and around us keep dropping pts...There has been no outstanding team/s that are running away with it.
If we carry on as we are and don't lose our bottle we WILL be there or there abouts.

Our team is young, hungry, full of energy but main thing is they BELIEVE in Poch and his ways.

This is a team that's growing and we can see some players developing week by week. Lamela is starting to look like the player I hoped he could be, then Dier and Alli are improving quickly too. Sadly, it's not going to be this season, I really want to win the league I just don't think we're there yet. Two or three years from now and we have a real chance, the players that season will be helped by the title race this year which we're just about part of.

I believe it's possible, but only because there are no outstanding teams this year. If Man City, Chelsea and Man Utd were playing like they have in the past, we would be in 6th place at best. We need to make the most of the other teams struggling and make sure we take a top 4 spot. This is the best chance since we lost our spot to Chelsea after winning the Champions League. If we manage it, we can look forward to more success and attracting better players.

If we want to win the league or even just aim higher than 4th we'll need to make the Europa league far less of a priority.
It's no coincidence we lost to Newcastle after Monaco then won 3 on the spin without any Europa league games after that.

I think anyone with half a brain could see we were only going to improve this season with such a young squad, although i don't think anybody was clever enough to see we'd improve so rapidly.

The best is still to come from this group of players, we need to add to it though.

How does that explain our other results post EL thus season?

Games after Europa league this season.
Palace - won
Swansea - drew
Bournemouth - won
Arsenal - drew
Chelsea - drew
Newcastle - lost

That's an improvement on previous years...And look at the teams we played...The scum and Chelsea a draw is a decent pt.....actually only really the Newcastle game is a bitter blow....and maybe Swansea bit still 1pt away from home

Any other season i'd agree.
But the scum and chavs were there for a taking. Look at the shit teams that have taken them apart and we managed a point a piece.
For 75 minutes we had arsenal pinned on the floor and were giving them a UFC style beat down then ended up clinging on for dear life as we were looking dead on our feet.
Against the chavs, had we not flown to the moon and back 48 hours before I think we'd have scored another 5 against them.

The above is just an example but why so many posts of this ilk? Is everyone playing it down and not wanting to get their hopes up? Bugger that! Get your hopes up people because we are more than 'just about part of' the title race. We are up to our necks in it. And with only 2 losses and 4 points from top at halfway mark coupled with the best defensive record and best goal difference in the league, it's fair to say we probably will be for a little while longer yet.
We may improve in the next couple of seasons but so will Chelsea, United, Liverpool....We have a fantastic opportunity and our results suggest there is no reason why we can't win it this season.

I disagree with this. Europa league is a great opportunity for rotating the squad and giving the bench a chance. Also shows the hunger of the players.

Remember, without Europa league, the likes of Kane wouldn't have been able to show what they can do. I would want to see Carroll, Onomah, Winner, Worm, Tripier and Davies showing the can lead the team to success too. Also means they stay fresher.

More importantly, shows the hunger of the starting XI. They want, they want, they want, they want. That's when we get the winning mentality. Title is too early. We one genuine game changer away. Right now, that's Alli. He still learning and developing, but for me he will be the £50m player that makes everything click.
