Even if they trigger it, in this deal the player gets a say, so might not want to go back. As most of the time players are bought back and sold on

They don't need him and to sell him on they'd need a buyer to be willing to pay substantially more than the buy back clause. In this current market it's incredibly unlikely.

Why would they resign a player for nearly 40M when the have one valued at 55M starting and performing absolutely fine?
