Does anyone fancy taking a positive view and seeing what happens under Ange?! Frankly, although I can't help but read posts compulsively, it's exhausting to read all of the negatively a lot of you write! Can we at least give it 6 - 8 games into the season before the knives come out?! How about a negative comment amnesty?

If ever we needed the 'optimistic' rating back!

If this is true it just highlights that good business deals supersede the footballing decisions- surely none of our football people that advise on transfers can be backing this.

What would even be the point of doing this?

There are far better centre backs out there we could take a cheap punt on.

If true this is just lazy.

I really really don't want him back.

Expensive and not good enough, especially in a high line.

I can appreciate he maybe a good pro but so are Davies and Dier.

I'll wait and see what our defense is after the final window before I make a judgement but if it's Romero, Dier, Davies and Lenglet then I would be very worried about Ange's plans for the season.

Who would you recommend out of interest?

How is it that the supporters who watch the club week in and week out can see that he is a very average player with nothing special to offer the team but the management can't. If it's true and I hope it isn't then it's another cheap option by the club and probably means we are unlikely to sign a top CB. I will be very disappointed in Ange if he sanctions this.

Ha I knew someone would have to come back with a response like that.

If I was working In the recruiting department for spurs, rather than my boring 9 to 5 job, I would have done something called scouting. ;-)

With all the players out there, there are many better options than Lenglet who isn’t really suited to a back 4, especially in the more physical English league.

He had one season in the prem. and you are writing him off. This all sounds a little “Sissoko” to me…….

I’m not saying he is the solution. But The kid can play football. Gets forward. And would probably be a pretty good loan option in the right formation. He knows the club. And will be better prepared for the season. Some of you are so black and white regarding players. Never considering anything apart from what has passed.
