...a quote from Garth Crooks and what an eloquent way to describe this transfer window. Sell a 20 goal a season player and sign a group that can score 50-60 between them. I cant wait to see these lads get integrated in AVB's plans. I just hope that the fans are level headed and give these lads the time to bed in.

I like the Newcastle fan's quote about selling Park Lane to get the final Green so you can build hotels. It's somewhere in the what our opponents fans are saying thread.

Glorious free flowing football isn't going to happen for the first half of the season, that only comes with a well oiled and bedded in team. However, we will be functional during that period. Should pick off lower level teams but will struggle to unlock any in the top quarter.

If we accept that as fans, it will help ease the pressure on the new players, especially the creative ones who are most affected by pressure.

You know what really hurts me deep inside, makes me rage, and takes me to a dark place?

Knowing that that in 50 years time, Spurs will sell Gareth Bale MKII to buy another host of up and coming stars and there will be a journalist claiming it would be like selling Justin Beaver to buy One Erection.:sick::sick::banghead::dead:

Chadli being the frontrunner right now.

I haven't read, seen, or heard any negativity towards Chadli so far.

He's probably the least known of our new players, but I think he's an exciting signing that looks like he can chip in with a decent amount of goals. He's already provided a brilliant assist with his weaker foot.

From some of the conversations I've had, and things I've read, I reckon Eriksen will be the one that comes in for the most criticism...which would also be idiotic.

I'm actually very optimistic about all of our new signings. Paulinho, Capoue, and Soldado are the ones I can see settling in immediately due to their abilities, experience, and personalities. Soldado is a determined and mean mo fo that walks onto the pitch expecting to score (one of the reasons why I've wanted us to sign him for ages!).

I don't really want to comment on Lamela as I'm still not 100% sure that I didn't hallucinate that signing. He's a brilliant player that I can't wait to see playing for us.

Overall I think the key reason why all of our new signings have a great chance of hitting the ground running is due to the style of play AVB will be employing. Under Harry we played with a more open, instinctive style. When it worked it was amazing and made us look incredibly natural. That's the sort of team that is very hard to become integrated into because it is so dependent upon the understanding between players that comes with such free expression over several games.

On the other hand AVB's approach is far more specific. Bringing in so many new players will actually help in this respect because not only will they all be learning a new system together, but there will also be hardly anyone still drilled on the previous way of playing.

Still in a state of shock about what has happened this summer really. We're an unknown entity right now, so I'm keeping my expectations in check, but holy Satan am I excited to see what happens!

For the record I think Chadli will become a fan favourite.

I'm not calling you out Spurger King but this quote is just so funny in hindsight. :p
