We are delighted to confirm that the First Team squad will travel to the United States of America as part of a pre-season training camp ahead of the 2012-13 campaign.
On Tuesday July 24, the team will take on 2011 MLS Cup winners LA Galaxy at the Home Depot Center, and come up against former captain Robbie Keane as well as David Beckham, who spent time training with us at Spurs Lodge last year.
The tour fixture schedule concludes with a return to the Red Bull Arena where we face New York Red Bulls on Tuesday July 31. The venue hosted two games during our summer tour of 2010 where we participated in the New York Football Challenge, playing games against the Red Bulls and Sporting Lisbon.
On announcing the tour, Tottenham Hotspur Chairman Daniel Levy said: “We are delighted to be heading back to the USA ahead of the 2012-13 season. We enjoyed a successful tour in 2010 and are looking forward to the opportunity to play against the LA Galaxy and New York Red Bulls, two of the leading franchises in MLS.

“The Club is proud of its reputation for playing entertaining football and we believe this attacking style is responsible for the significant rise in the number of fans across the USA in recent years. This tour presents us with a great opportunity to give something back to those fans and also introduce new supporters to the Spurs way of playing football.”

Commenting on the announcement, Tottenham Hotspur Manager Harry Redknapp said: "The facilities will be first class and the opposition will provide a great test for the squad. We know how good the MLS sides are from two summers ago when we faced San Jose Earthquakes and New York Red Bulls. We can expect another tough encounter when we face the Red Bulls again this time.

"Playing the winners of the MLS Cup in LA Galaxy will provide a real challenge too - any team that includes proven international performers like Robbie Keane, Landon Donovan and David Beckham are sure to be top drawer.
"I have fantastic memories of America from my days playing at Seattle Sounders and, more recently, our last visit there two years ago.”
Keep an eye on our website and Facebook page for the latest ticket information on our tour.

I could see games being added. Most clubs who come to the US typically play more than 2 (we played 3 last time)

By the way, at the moment the Red Bulls are only selling tickets in packages of 3 games.

Maybe they'll play the two and do some Under Armour promotion in between.

Got 2 tickets on stub hub for me and the bro. In the section right next to the away team bench (I think based on memory and pics from the LA Galaxy game there). Will be my first Spurs Game :hump:

I believe we're also playing in Baltimore on July 28th against Liverpool but that is yet to be confirmed.

Baltimore is where Under Armor are based so it would make sense to play there.

If anyone is looking to buy tickets DO NOT BUY THEM THROUGH THE RED BULLS.

New York Spurs are working with the club the to get our own section for the game and tickets just for that game instead of having to buy the package deal which is absolutely stupid.

Hey dude, what's the easiest way to join up with NY Spurs? I'll be there this summer, and I'm looking for a job to stay there for a couple years.

If nothing else, I'll be interested in buying tickets for this match through the group (sat right next to them last time we played in NY, great experience).

Given that we had just about our worst ever pre-season last time we went to the US, it is a pretty odd decision. Harry was pretty critical of the schedule then but I suppose he won't be around next pre-season.

They have a website and forum with loads of info

NYSpurs.com

Once you meet up with them in the summer they give you the opportunity to join their group. $20 includes t-shirt, scarf, and get invites to their events.

I'd get over on their site and wait to see the details they have sorted out for everyone.

I just checked StubHub to get an idea of prices. They start at $85* each. That seems a bit much. I know NYSpurs will have cheaper prices, but I tend to prefer better seats to see the game.

*I know that with current conversion rates it makes it a 9 pound tickets, but fuck you and your gloriously sound currency.

By the b y, the guy in the NW, moomin, not sure I've visited a city of size in the region I didn't lurve. Specially Portland.

Apart from the tendency for everything to get flooded and swept 100 miles downstream every couple of weeks that is. That must get a little tiring for full-time residents.

A third game has been arranged. Spurs v Liverpool in Baltimore, Maryland on July 28th.

I'll probably go to that game.
