We now have
Everton H Sunday.
Bulgaria Thursday.
Southampton A Sunday.
League cup Tuesday.
Macedonia/ Romania Thursday.
Newcastle H Sunday
Is the league cup fixture a mistake, or do we really have to play Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday?

This competition is so hilariously awful. It’s impossible to take seriously. And its happening when theirs a deadly disease running rampant everywhere. Nice one, UEFA.

You reckon Chelsea, Man Utd, Sevilla, Athletico Madrid and Porto think it’s hilariously awful? Not to mention our 72 (inaugural winners) and 84 sides?

Nope, it's correct.
Nowhere else to fit it in, 4th round is scheduled a week later and we play every midweek until after Xmas assuming we make the Europa Group Stage.
5th round is scheduled just before Christmas which is after the Europa Groups have finished

League Cup Tuesday (assuming we qualify)
Europa League Thursday (assuming we qualify)

Not sure they will be on BT Sport.
For 1st qualifying Round, Premier Sports had the Scottish teams, and BBC Red Button had the rest
I’m hoping that’s just because BT weren’t interest in Motherwell v Glentoran so just sold on the rights for the first round (as they do own them I believe) and for a Mourinho charged Spurs they feel the viewership will justify showing it.

If not, fingers crossed for the Beeb!

Was the same with Celtic in Champs League though was also Premier Sports rather than BT, and that would have probably have as many, if not more UK viewers potential than any Spurs match.
Just looked back Wolves v Torino in Play Off Round last year was on Premier Sports also, so not sure they own them before Group Stage.
Guess we will find out in next week or so.

Apologies if already answered but are the qualifiers on tv?
Unknown right now, but probably. Unlike the main competition, the qualifiers are just sold on a game-by-game basis, so it's a matter of who bids (or who bids the most) for the rights. Most likely we'll be on BT, but Premier Sports like to try and pick these games up to try and get subscribers.

Whilst I agree with your sentiment, it was a very different competition back when we won it (I'd argue it was a harder and superior competition to the Champions Cup at the time).........nowadays, it is (comparatively) a load of old tosh, but I still really enjoy the European nights.

I fully accept that the champions league overshadows it, but there’s several potential opponents in the Europa who would provide exciting fixtures. It’s a consolation prize to getting Champions League but I’m happy to be in it.

I think the only small chance we have of stopping Kane leaving next summer is if we win the Europa League.

We’re obviously not going to win the league and if we get knocked out all the cups and Europa I don’t think getting 4th will be enough.
If we got to the Europa league final and won that trophy right at end of the season I think there’s a chance after the buzz of him winning his first trophy here and being in CL again that Jose could convince him to give us one more year to do something huge in 21/22.

Nothing to do with the three years he’ll have remaining on his deal and roughly £150m plus it’ll take to sign him then...

With so many games and travelling in such a short time can't we find some EU legislation that makes it illegal for so many hours being worked :)

Won’t be enough to keep him here in my opinion. If we win nothing again he’s gone I think, hope I’m wrong because he’s irreplaceable.

Still needs someone to pay it and us to accept it.

Unless he goes on strike, I just don’t see us under any pressure to sell him until summer 2022, at which point he’ll be turning 29, having potentially broken the 200 league goal mark for us (or got very close to it) and given is 8 seasons as first choice. And the moment there’s a sniff of him being available, even at that age, there’ll be a lot of interest which equates to an insane fee.

We’re under no pressure now because there’s not been a suggestion he wants out at the minute. If we’re out of everything come January who knows. I think there could be a lot of clubs looking for a striker next summer.

My hope is he wants to break shearers record and he wants to win the league here. As far off as that seems now I think winning the Europa league is at least a sign that we’re moving in that direction for him.
