well he won't be on the bench so I don't see that connection

Given his apparent like for competition on the field, is he, a) likely to consistently rise to it, b) disappear into annonimity, and/or c) seek a corner where he can be molly coddled?

Let's see. It was just one opinion. To ramp up my intellectual and social maturity should i repeat a point ad infinitum and imagine it thinking and a display of inherent depth?

No, that 'might' be perceived as both tedious and vacuous.

How dare the club conduct itself in a quiet, efficient manner in signing a world class player chased by a number of top, top teams, and Newcastle, and signing him early before his transfer fee increases.

I mean, if they continue like this what will the Comolli and Levy haters have to moan about all summer.

you see joey how much I've missed you - you know much more about Capel than probably anyone who's been posting Capel is coming - I just know he won't from knowledge of human nature and politics - you've got real football knowledge

LOL, your constant flattery of Joey is making me sick DC....get a room FFS:)

Seriously, I am fairly new to the forum and spend more time reading than posting which is why I did read your call on Modric a month ago.....nice one.

I have to agree with both you and Joey regarding Capel not coming and this not being the end of JJ. JJ is such an erratic player which is why so many dislike him but they are full of praise when he is on form. JJ has more versatility than some of our other midfielders. TBH, I dont think he will be sweating and will actually be excited about the prospect of playing alongside him. If anyone should sweat, I would have thought it would be DZ or maybe even Lennon.

As for Capel, well common sense would tell you that Seville would be reluctant to offload their toilet cleaners to Spurs at the moment. Release clauses can be hurredly amended if needed. If a club does not want to sell to a specific club then they can usually prevent it from happening no matter how much the player wants the move.....remember Gabriel Heinze and how he was definately going to Liverpool!

To be honest, as a previous poster said, now is simply the time to enjoy the announcement of a quality signing. There will be plenty of time for speculation later.....right now I just feel too bloody good to think about ramifications for other players.

COYS, and cheers to you all

This is what Ramos promised and the building of a superb team is really off and running.

How nice to have a genuinely two-footed player in defence. Luka's brilliant passing ability should really make an impact (see, I'm already on first name terms!).

YES! YES! YES!

My Newcastle mate was so sure they were going to sign Modric when I spoke to him yesterday. Now I can rub both the Modric and the Woodgate signings in his face

He's a fantastic player as well. Couldn't be happier at the moment.

Just hope that people give him some time to adapt to a much better league before they expect him to shine.
