Im not going to lie, Arsenal.

Its easy to say, yeah id choose spurs...

But if you were genuinely put in such a circumstance, the thought of 40 k a week would be too much for most of you. Im sure the family would do a lot of convincing to make sure you took the 40 k a week contract too.

Only £2k a week?? How the hell am I going to survive on 100k a year????

Seriously though, if I was good enough I would eventually get more, and if I wasnt, then I'd rather play for Spurs than wear a scum shirt. However, if its 40k in same way Winston Bogarde earned 40k at Chelsea, then bring it on. Couple of robust challenges in training and I woould probably be shipped out on loan somewhere,. or get a massive pay-off

For that kind of money I would choose L'Arse, and then do a "Carragher" everytime I played Spurs :)

I seem to recall there was a similar poll question to this on Coys last year. There's not a single professional, or would-be professional, in the world that would take the Spurs deal. Even one club so-called legends like Gerrard are on the highest possible wages. It would be mildly amusing if Levy did try this tactic.

Levy: "OK, Jamie, about your new contract. Now, you're always banging on about your love for the club, how you have a deep passion for it and the fans. Now I need you to prove it. Your new contract is a 3 year deal at 30k a week, but minus your "loyal Spurs fan" consideration of 33%, so it's 20k a week. I'm being serious with all the players that consider themselves real fans of the club, that they shouldn't expect the top wages we have to offer some of these so-called superstars. If you're really playing for the club you love, you shouldn't be trying to wring the last penny out of it."

Jamie: " Blimey, Super Dan, that's a bit harsh. You're punishing me for my love of the club. Why don't you ask me to really prove it and play for nothing?"

Levy: "That was my original plan, Jamie. However, I was advised it appears to be illegal and violates several EU laws. Look on the bright side. You can get one over the King. He's always larging it about how he turned down a Chelsea approach, but what did he say when I informed him of his new contract offer? He sprinted out of here faster than the roadrunner to get on the phone to his agent! That knee seems to be healing well! Jamie....? Where's he gone?"

[teary-eyed, sniffling Jamie on mobile]"Arsene? Yeah, I'm gonna come back. I'll take the 40k a week."

Earning 2k a week, and playing for the team I love would do me any day.

If I were a footballer and not a mad crazy Spurs fan, then I would probably choose Arsenal, not because of the money, but because of the....oh who the fuck am I kidding.....I'd sooner drink my own vomit than play for them fucking fuck fucks!****

Speaking as a Spurs fan, I'd rather spit on the Arsenal shirt then ever even contemplate wearing it.

If I was non-partisan then I would still think twice about it. Spurs have a glorious history and to be touched by that even on a small, relatively insignificant basis would give me pause.

Arsenal. Get rich very quickly, and slowly decimate the team through injury in training. And always have a convenient injury myself to avoid playing.

Arse. I've learnt through experience that it's best not to work for institutions or organisations you have a fondness for, it soon shatters your illusions. That and the piles and piles of cash

Spurs.

Money aint everything. £2000 should be plenty for a good lifestyle.

My mates would hate me if i played for Arsenal and i could never live with myself or the shame.

I would do Arsenal. It's a life changing 5 years of work. I wouldn't celebrate goals. I'd learn from one of the greatest managers the Premier League has seen, and hopefully manage Spurs to the Premier League title after I've retired.

Spurs, can't believe some of you are saying arsenal! Nearly £90,000 a year to play for the club you love on wages alone, not forgetting all the endorsements and other financial opportunities that could arise because of it.
