None of these three CM’s are creative geniuses, but it’s nice to see all of them happy to receive the ball under pressure, never hiding from the ball.
Getting a whole lot of Tommy Carroll feel about them. There's a reason Winks is still here and TC is not.

Brilliant little passage of play from KWP.

Once again our three kids in midfield are dominating this gsme. All of them comfortable stepping back and taking the ball off defenders looking for out balls

These three are all much better without the ball than Carroll, more rounded players, better tactically, but Carrol was probably more likely to play an incisive pass.

Have we gone three at the back now with Aurier and Davies coming on?

Agree, without the ball they are definitely more Poch-ish. My comparison was more about looking good and tidy when there was no defensive pressure. Bring the pressure and they go sideways and backwards. They have youth as a defense though.

edit: and if I'm honest both Amos and Skipp have both done things in this second half that have impressed me.

I think that’s a bit harsh, three kids (all more busy **** than creatives) playing against a strong Milan. I think their decision making - pass wise- has been pretty good, they’ve moved it quickly and vertically at times.

Possibly harsh but MFs are supposed to be both.

edit: and I take exception to your characterization of this team as a "strong Milan". :ROFLMAO:

I’m fucking off to bed as soon as the whistle goes.

This has been by far the best performance of preseason. Certainly the most cohesive and coherent.

The three Cm’s did a great job, but Eyoma deserves a mention too. Good game.

Better than Roma where we scored 4 goals? Idk about that...

Great to hear the young players doing well.

Perhaps GKN's goal will help us find a suitor for him...

I enjoyed this game.

The midfield impressed, TJ Eyoma looked good and composed and KWP is much better as a RB obviously

I really like Skipp, I hope he gets some minutes in the FA Cup/League Cup this season

The odds are probably against him to make it at Spurs, but I really like Luke Amos. He looks to be one of those players who's decent at everything, with no real flaws in his game. It's easy to see why the Stevenage fans were glowing in their praise of him last season.

At the very least he should make it as a Premier League footballer imo.

I agree. I've always rated him and would like nothing more for him to make it with us. I know Poch likes his attitude and I do hope he rewards him with minutes/starts this season. He's shown a really good blend of skills/attributes and I have no doubt he'd hold his own for us in the league and other competitions.
