We'll be in the race for 4th and spend the season arguing over if winning a minor trophy is better than finishing 4th.

Then achieve neither.

Possibly

Would be very naive to assume that bringing in Conte guarentees a major trophy.
Best way not to be disappointed with next season is not to expect too much-just enjoy the football and lets see what happens.

I’m happy with a coach who’s tactically smart and flexible, has a record of winning and plays an aggressive, positive style of football. Trophies is down to the quality of players he can bring in and that’s down to ENIC in the end.

Major Coup if appointed, and would presume DL has agreed to back his philospy... some of that new sponsor money must be ear marked for new signings as well as clearing out some of the stagnet players..

Who would you have preffered?

tbh someone like potter or Howe. Conte is a similar style appointment to Mourinho and doesn’t fit with the philosophy of our club.

Going for Conte screams desperation by levy to hold on to Kane whereas I’d rather sell him and spend the money on younger hungry players with a manager in place To truely develop them.

Having kane At our club is both a joy and a curse

That's a fair point but Howe or Potter isn't screaming any ambition to me it means we've settled, if you're gonna get a project manager you might as well pay the compensation and get Poch as opposed to Potter and Howe. In regards to Kane you can look at it this way, if we lose Kane we're more or less fucked for the foreseeable, it means strengthening a rival whilst sending out the message that we're not a serious club and are happy to be also rans, we're going to struggle to attract good managers and players.

Whether this is about Kane though it besides the point - I think when someone like Conte becomes available you go and get him especially if he put himself forward for the role, you go and get him and you back him, we can still spend the money on young hungry players with Conte as he develops players as well.

The only thing similar to Jose is that he is a born winner like Jose.

I get you points about potter etc but Poch was still a risk in the same way. Whilst I acknowledge contes brand of football is more entertaining than Mourinhos he still has high demands and is very much a short term manager
