Sky insisting that the Arsenal academy is as good as Spurs, but at least they have to acknowledge ours now !
It did annoy me that they mention that Rose was from Leeds academy but no mention about previous academies for Bellerin, Coquelin, Gnarby and Szczesny.

Also they say one criteria is "They joined their club before their 18th birthday" yet they include Iheanacho for City.

Technically Iheanacho joined MC when 17 and a half - but couldn't sign a contract until he was 18, so might just squeeze in under that rule.

But doubt if he ever played any u18 games and he was certainly bought to play in the first team - his first game was a pre/post season friendly with the first team so no way can he really be counted as a club trained player or youth academy graduate (different to Rose who joined aged 17 and played in Spurs u18's vand u21's before going out on loan).

And Iheanacho is the only one from MC they treat as coming from their youth system. Madness

Rose, mason, Carroll, Kane, onomah, bentalab, Pritchard,

I really doubt that winks or onomah counted so where did 9 come from. So the academy word is being used very loosely

you do know it names the 9

Tottenham have fielded the youngest team in the Premier League on average this season - and nine of the footballers in their squad have stepped up from their youth system. Danny Rose spent much of his youth with Leeds United before joining Tottenham aged 17. He has since gone on to make 68 Premier League appearances for Spurs, while Nabil Bentaleb,Ryan Mason, Harry Kane, Andros Townsend and Tom Carroll have also racked up significant game time with the first-team after developing with Tottenham. Alex Pritchard, Milos Veljkovic and JoshOnomah have each made one appearance for Spurs.

Good god the comments section is full of numpties. There's no helping the world sometimes.

It's like they can't read, granted he missed off some players, but one hammer, unsurprisingly lists, Carrick, Rio and Lampard smh.

Also one comment mentioned that Spurs buy a lot of their graduates like Danny Rose. Ye one.

Bentaleb and Veljkovic are another 2. But we bring them in young and they develop with us.
There will only be a handful of players that have only been at the 1 club on that list (im guessing)

Anybody needing a football fix for Saturday should go to the Spurs u18s away to Fulham at Motspur Park, this will be a blinding game they beat us 3-0 back in September and are physically the strongest side we have played this season but also play good football. We had a lot of important players missing that day and i am hoping we have a very strong team out for this one.

Will be interested to see how we get on with a settled defence too. To add to what Edson has said, their u16s successfully defended the Premier League International Cup, so will be entertaining. Motspur park isn't close to home so will be relying on reports

This is clearly a WUM (I would hope) but made me laugh and probably my favorite comment:

"Of course ARsenal top, we produice amazing players. We produce Wilshere, probably best midfield in world, we produce Henry, probably best striker in world, we produce Chambers, best young defender in league."

Ye but Bentlaeb wasn't signed. He was rejected by his club and failed at various trials before we noticed him and developed him. It wasn't lke he was highly rated and we managed to steal him, he was not rated and we turned him into what he is. I personally wouldn't compare Bentaleb's situation to Bellerin, Gnabry etc.

Also Veljkovic has been with us since he was 15, essentially like Caulker, so bought before he could join our academy, but ye fair enough he was signed.

Townsend, Carroll, Mason, Onomah, Winks and Pritchard bar one season have been with us since they were 8/9. And Kane with us since 9 that's a good effort.

IG,

It is for me!! :D Mate, you have been kind enough to suggest going to this in the past and I never had a chance to thank you for tagging me recently for another sw London game (prob at Chelsea's). Loads going on at home - both parents' not so good (87 and 86) has just chewed up my evenings and spare time. Tonight I was supposed to be going to a concert at the Hammy Odeon but am here quickly b4 off to bed coz I'm so knackered:sleep:. Gutted :inpain:

If I can I'll go and of course give a report if I do.

Cheers all,

Tony

Think Bentaleb was without a club or alternatively was going on trials with a few clubs before he joined us

Veljkovic was with us from the age of 15, although he couldn't sign a contract with us until aged 17 or 18.

Aged 16 its quite common for lots of players to change club as they search for a 'scholarship' at an academy - Caulker joined us at that age for example - whilst Kane joined aged 9 or 12, but others have been training with Spurs since age of 8.

They include Sczchney (close enough and Im not googling it) and Gnabry, two players who aren't even at the fucking club and can't be recalled until January whilst then including another 2 out on loan

TBF we will rise to ten if poch gives Winks 1 min or Coulthirst one min, which isn't unimaginable in the next 6 weeks
