Bottom line is most would come out with at least 5 names and that is a lot of players blocking the path for others and need to be moved on,I could go as high as 9 but one or two i like but i do not think they will play for the first team.
That doesn't mean they need to go they should be out on loan now to stop them from blocking other players path

This season I don't think has been good for a lot of our players from a development point of view. To blame the players is the easy option a lot of these kids haven't kicked on a lot this season bar Onomah and only the loan deals for Oglivie, Ball and arguably Ward(had a good run under one of his 3 rotherham managers this season, which itself describes this shit storm) have done well

Our goal isn't just to make footballers for the first team but also players for the football league to help us run our academy. Sometimes players don't start performing to a high level until they get a lot older. Pirlo didnt start playing regularly until he was 23/24 iirc, whilst being shunned for others.
How can you guys be so heartless, I've got 5 but can see cases for more. Feel a couple could do with maybe another season for chances or at least get loans
Totally agree with this

I would loan out about 7 of them next season or would have this season

Would like to know without naming names how many players would you lot let go from this lot?

I'd say 7 and it could be 8.

Think it has to be a minimum of that sort of number too as next season there will be Glover, Carter-Vickers, Maghoma, Muscatt, Styliandes, Owens, Loft, Tracey and probably McDermott (total 8 or 9) joining the development squad on either a pro contract or 3rd year Scholarship as otherwise the development squad will get bigger and bigger - and at the moment its blocking progress all the way down the age groups as it is.

We also probably need to get more out on loan if they are considered 'marginal' as to whether they stay or go, so as to ease progress of players into u21 football

i know he's been criticised a lot around here and i'm sure he's one of the first names on everyone's to-go list but walkes has actually done a decent job since moving to cb. I've moaned as much as anyone at him being played in attacking positions but that's entirely down to ugo - why it's taken him until march to realise this i don't know. he's looked pretty calm and assured at cb, with ccv moving up to the first team we don't have a plethora of immediate options there anyway so i don't think keeping him around as an older steady head is the worst idea in the world.

I would agree - the only thing I would say is that Walkes has not really been tested too thoroughly at CB. He has always had his best chance to make it as a league player at CB though IMO.

I would be shocked if all three make it next season

The club seriously needs to look at the loan system again instead of the U21 league which imo has just been getting weaker and weaker recently

That's what all the ITK has said - at least in respect to Owens and Styliandes. McDermott I just don't know, He's looked ok in goal but hasn't had many opportunities so may get another year.

Only 3 definitely out seem to be Daley. Haywood and Paul.

So agreed we need to look to loan more out as whilst the likes of Owens and Styliandes may be able to make a good living out of football, I doubt very much as to whether it will be at Spurs.

I do wonder whether we should be looking to form relationships with the likes of say Ipswich with a view to loaning out youngsters who are not going to make it at Spurs but maybe have a chance at clubs who are good but a step below (in the nicest possible way)

I don't see how we will have room for McDermott unless we loan a few.

At the moment we have potentially McGee doing fuck all for another year:D

Then Glover in the U21's with Whiteman and Austin in the U18's joined by Freeman and/or some other

True, but I could use similar arguments about the number of CM's in the current development squad, which in turn is causing us problems.

That's why I think we need to find decent academies to park some players who will not be good enough but we want to show that another year at a different academy will allow them to have a career at a decent level, just not Spurs

I reckon they should start playing u21 fixtures as warm up game before each pl game. Would raise the profile and clubs would take it more seriously resulting in a higher level and more useful stepping stone to 1st team rather than loans.

What was the lineup we put out there against these Japanese kids?

Glover; Mukena, Maghoma, Walkes, Tsaroulla; Marsh; Tracey, Stylianides, Goddard, Georgiou; Sterling.

goddard probably our best player, though that wasn't saying much. bennetts did ok when he came on too.
