I still have faith in Pritchard,if he plays like the player he can be I would not be shocked if he made a England squad by the end of next season but he has to be a lot luckier than this season and stay fit and play more games.

whiteman and edwards are with england.

Much younger squad than that which played in Nextgen tournament, with only Walkes Pritchard and Goddard from the development squad and almost half the squad being from Academy Year 1 (ie 1999 year born so generally aged 17 fpr an u19 tournament), so I'd guess we have one of the younger squads at that tournament. Good experience for them though.

OS roundup of the tournament so far.

.We now face Chelsea u19's, who competed in the other group, in a playoff on Sunday @ 1 pm (local time) so 12 noon UK time.

can't see edwards playing u18s again except maybe for the youth cup. whiteman, tanganga, brown/tsaroulla, marsh and sterling won't feature much at that level either i wouldn't have thought.

That u18s group looks incredibly good as a whole. Hopefully edwards can push into the first team squad at some stage next season though

Il be honest, Pritchard imo will struggle to make our squad.

At the moment we have a huge squad, our first choice is:

Alli ------- Eriksen -------- Lamela
Chadli -------- Son ---------- N'Jie
Pritchard ----- Mason/Carroll ----- Onomah

Know I some people don't appreciate these comments because they want the youth thread to be their safe space or some shit.

However our squad is in noway at the moment built for youth development. I think you should have first team AM's and then a space free for a kid(not academy player) but I don't think we will ever see it.

For me having a player over 21 being sixth choice AM is a waste of money, resources and going to screw up their development. Now some people say they are second choice RW or AM, but thats bullshit. Managers tend to have their first reserve in mind and often

Managers never do a full even switch and often mix it up with the first team. They are also often more willing to see a first team player out of position than give an inexperienced players a chance.

Now people say that well you cant expect every player to make, I don't think anyone really is. However look in the case of Rashford, here we saw a player who wasnt very highly rated and wasnt labelled a star given a chance he did a great job and now is being labelled as one.

Players like Amos, Oduwa and etc. were highly rated years ago and expected to be potential first team players, now it is expected they all wont make it but they shouldn't be further away from the squad than Ward who was shipped out because we would struggle to accommodate him with this very good group. Its even crazier that someone like Winks isn't kicking on who is considered one of our best ever CM prospects and they will find it harder to get near the squad if we sign another DM.

Its bit disappointing Harrison didnt get a chance when Son and Chadli weren't clearly strikers and we didnt have no other striker.

With CL next season it will be difficult for anyone to make the step up for players but we cant go through another bad year were arguably only 3 academy/loan players are having good seasons.

For me things need to improve next season or there needs to be changes.

Does anyone know the name of a player who plays for the u16s mainly in midfield,he is of average height and is a hard working type player who has a younger brother who also is in our youth setup and I am not talking about Shashoua?

I can only think of Paris Maghoma. We've got two Clarke's, Rayan & Jayden, but I don't know if they're related. We've also got two Patterson's Phoenix & Kane, but again, I don't know if they're related. Brooklyn Lyons-Foster's older brother Kodi was with us a couple of years back, but I doubt that's who you're talking about.

As @Spurzinho says the only u16 I can think of who has a brother is Patterson, but while he is probably hardworking I wouldn't describe that as his main trait, as he has ability. But I assume you'd know Patterson so not sure if it is him

Phoenix and Kane are related. I'm pretty sure Rayan and Jayden are not as they look nothing alike and are in the same age group. I also think Jayden has been released as I've not seen or heard anything of him for a while, though that could just be because he has been playing u15s games on a Sunday
