Luongo I confess I forgot (but I rate - its an oversight) - Veljkovic is astonishinly still an Academy player next year !

He sure is some telent. I love the talk of Kaboul helping/passing on tips throughout that U21's game

Where does that leave Gomelt... is he still an academy player too?

This is the rule for qualifying for not needing to be on the B list as an U21 player - in a nutshell it's three years at the club for being considered "Home Grown"

• UEFA defines locally-trained or 'homegrown' players as those who, regardless of their nationality, have been trained by their club or by another club in the same national association for at least three years between the age of 15 and 21. Up to half of the locally-trained players must be from the club itself, with the others being either from the club itself or from other clubs in the same association.

I just checked the UEFA squad list and he's not on the A or B list. Presumably just there to train with the team/go home and visit family.

Veljkovic joined last season according to OS although he first played in a youth tournament well before that, but accoring to OS he would need to be registered in the squad of 25 (which he was not) as he would fall foul of the 2 year rule.

List B ( u 21's who have been at the club for more than 2 years, which OS suggests he has not) can be added to the UEFA squad up to 24 hours before a match.

Just hope Spurs know the rules (cross fingers after the NextGen incident last year when we fielded at least one ineligible player) - and CMurray is right !

I meant more for the semi final and final but thanks for the long info anyway SI :)

Not sure that many if any of the loanees will be back by then (unless we recall them - where we are allowed to - because they are not playing enough on loan) so it may be no change from the current team/squad !

FYI, That is the rule for defining club trained/home grown polayers. This is the one defining who can be on List B (ie an u21 player who has been at the club foir more than 2 years)

18.17 A player may be registered on List B if he is born on or after 1 January 1991
and has been eligible to play for the club concerned for any uninterrupted
period of two years since his 15th birthday by the time he is registered with
UEFA. Players aged 16 may be registered on List B if they have been
registered with the participating club for the previous two years without
interruption.

Will they not be back due to end of Lower league seasons? Only ones who probably won't be back are the Swindon trio in the play-off's. (Unless Leicester and Kane sort themselves out)

I had thought the S/F was definitely during the season - but now I am not sio sure ! Think you could be right.

I spotted on the SSN ticker that Parret has cut short his loan at Swindon, does anyone know why?

Strange. He started all matches and seemed very invovled. Considering they cant really sign anyone then surely he would have been worth having in the squad. I suspect something happened behind the scenes with mangement or another player, meaning he had his loan terminated.

Digging around the net a bit, it seems DP might have voiced his frustration at having to be played out wide. Maybe the Manager didn't appreciate his comments?

Swindon are struggling in the creativity and goal scoring Departments currently yet they chose to play Parrett out wide? Strange decision by McDonald as it must have been made clear to him that Parrett is a CM before he took him.

Comments from a swindon forum (who have in turn taken some comments from twitter):

My understanding is that Parrett's general performances and application were not of MacDonald's required levels. #stfc

Parrett was sent back early from loan spell at Yeovil once. Again, reasons not clearly given but local media believed it was about attitude.
He'd have made an amazing false number 9.

I would have been happier if he at least looked interested. No loss at all from what I've seen.

The general thoughts seem to be that we may have had some condition in the loan contract that he has to get game time, and that the manager thought other players were better.

Vejlkovic, Ceballos & Coulthirst all were today at Basel to warm up with the rest. Great day for them.

There was another one who was for sure younger and had a shit black hairstyle who collected the balls in a Spurs jacket. Could be Harry Winks.

Initially the link to Swindon was Ceballos, Parrett and one other (presumably Luongo). It seems they trained with the club, so why Byrne was taken rather than Ceballos is a bit of mystery.
