OS pages concerning the Development and Academy squads have been updated by the removal of all the players who have left the club, which is a start.

Now just waiting for them to add the new Academy Year 1 and move some players from the development squad to the first team and lasst season's academy year 2 into the development squad. Wonder if that will happen before Christmas...2017 !
I am not sure they have even got that right. I thought Jonathan Miles had been released as well.

So did I, but there has been nothing on OS about him - whereas all the other released players wre on one press release. I can only think he is staying - which might make sense if Archer is to play more in the first team squad and we need an alternative to Luke McGee who would otherwise be the only Development squad goalkeeper (and McGee has not played much at u21 level yet, so a breakthrough season at that level for him)

I did think he had said goodbye on twitter though - maybe he's done a deal to continue training at Spurs

http://africanfootball.com//news/438764/Eaglets-sensation-Musa-Yahaya-off-to-Spurs

Nigeria U20 winger Musa Yahaya will depart the country for London on Monday to begin pre-season training with English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur, his agent has informed AfricanFootball.com
17 years old by all accounts.

Never ben any official confirmation from Spurs on either Musa Yahaya or Ismail Azzaoui, although the latter has played for Spurs in an u 19 tournament and when asked one at that tournnament said that he was 'almost signed'' or words to that effect - but its one reason why I'm keeping an eye on the youth pages on OS as it has been known for OS to put players up without announcing their arrival.

They're reporting a pre-contract signed with us, and then off to La Liga in September. But it would be good to have confirmation from the OS. Theyve been a bit lax with the youth stuff recently.

the term 'recently' I think you mean 'about 5 years' !

Luongo was playing for Spurs for a year before he was onthe OS players pages for example.

Interesting aricle on the Feyenoord Academy - 5 of the Netherlands World Cup squad came through the Academy and still play for Feyenoord, whilst another 4 came through the Academy but now play elsewhere - so a total of 9 came through the Academy.

They pride themselves on giving the best young players from the academy a chance in the first team.

NB. Spurs u19's beat Feyenoord u19's 4-0 just a few months ago, suggesting our Academy is doing OK too

Its the most publicised - I heard it took a wrong turn (ironically when van Gaal was in charge) changing a few things such as skills training, and Frank de Boor is getting a lot of credit for sorting it out and re-instating the things which had changed.

Feyernoord started its youth program earlier and its worked out well for them whereas Ajax after FDB is only starting to bear fruit. Feyernoord is probably the stronger team at the moment imo. These are the players they brought through since 2009:
Leroy Fer - tough time at Norwich but made NT
Wijnaldum - One of PSV's best players
Castaignos - One of Twente's best players
Boetius - was linked with us and is a good winger
Janmaat - In the National Team and actually left before coming back
De Vrij - I wouldnt mind us looking at him 22, got 20 appearances for NT and had a good world cup
Martins Indi - Going to Porto and had a decent WC
Clasie - one of europe's promising playmakers and had a good WC
Kongolo - highly rated CB who will replace Martins Indi
Vilhena - had a good breakthrough season last year and was being tracked by united
Bruma - currently at PSV but his career has been a joke if he stayed he would of been much better and perhaps in the WC

Ajax this season had a lot come through and some of the overrated players are going like De Jong which ajax fans aren't bothered about

Heard this morning on Talksport that our under 21's have a game on Wednesday vs Southend United. Might be a behind closed doors game, nothing on the web about it.
Hopefully we get some information on it once the game has been played. It will be interesting to see the lineup.

Still think we missed the boat with FDB.

Poochy is a good manager, but I just preferred FDB as my first choice.
