Think he is better as a second striker the problem is we are overloaded with players who can play that role.[/B]As for him playing as a striker I think he would struggle due to his lack of pace and the fact the he is not a aggressive type of player who can bully opposition.

Agreed, imo that's why we need to see whether he can play in a different role which can only happen if he stays at Spurs. If he goes out on loan, he will go as a second striker and after that may have better experience but Spurs may not be able to easily use his skills - and until Coulthirst and Coulibaly are a couple of years older there are not too many options from Spurs youth set up, unless Cameron Lancaster comes back from operation in pre-season and starts to look the part, as Obika is having problems hacking it in Championship

Coulthirst is a real prospect,Coulibaly is slightly overrated in my opinion but early days for him, Obika I would let go and Lancaster when fit looks a good player.Would like to see Kane play just behind Coulthirst, could be a good link up?

Hope Lancaster can be our U21 striker next season, release Obika and let Lancaster take his role.
Lost most of this season to injury, liked his attitude when he got his chance with the first team.

Think I would agree on all that, but as we seem to be moving towards 433, the second striker position goes which means we need to see where Kane could play... !

Tricky one, Lancaster is 21 in November so really needs to be playing at a higher level than u 21's if he is going to do anything at Spurs - but of course being out for the last year doesn't give him any track record to get anything higher than League 1 probably. Whereas for Coulthirst/Coulibaly the u21's is still a god training ground given their age.

Possibly the best compromise is for Lancaster to play in u21's/some first team if he is good enough.

Maybe see if Coulthirst is matured enough in all senses to go on loan next season, he could be quite hot property certainly at League 1 level, but could he get to Championship level after half a season playing in u 21's....not sure..

Kane doesn't seem to be getting game time for Leicester? surely would be better off with our youth/reserves and enjoy some first team training exposure than being on loan witthout game time

Leicester are in terrible state at the moment, they cant score to save their life and they have been playing 433 with nugent, wood and sometimes Kane and unsurprisingly its not working

Ray Lo's usual descriptive report on Spurs u 18's draw against Liverpool today.

The Spurs team is now weakened by some of the former stalwarts moving up to the u21's giving some of the more fringe players a game. In addition some may be amused to hear that we gave a first start to a new Kyle Walker playing as RB - or to give him his full name Kylke Walker-Peters !

Came on again as a sub. for Leicester

Hope he gets a few more starts to build up game time, if he returned to Spurs doubt if AVB would give him much bench time as he hasn't with other youngsters. Only real advantage of returning is if Spurs coaches worked on any weaknesses - and as I suggested earlier see if he can change his usual style of play to broaden the range of positions he can play in.

I have not seen Kane play, so cant comment but it seems he is having a nightmare, that said Carroll last year at Derby had a nightmare but I did see him play and saw improvements in areas of his games in terms of his overall development and he like Kane atm was played out of position

Got the winner for Charlton. My mate says he's barely seen him since he's been on loan, mainly coming on as a sub, but only every other match really.

Happy to be proved wrong on Obika - but he really needs to be starting a few matches at championship Charlton (Obika's now 22) and scoring a few goals to progress. Maybe the goal can get him a start.

Elated Addicks boss Chris Powell hailed late hero Jonathan Obika after Charlton’s dramatic win against Leeds United on Saturday.
Elated Addicks boss Chris Powell hailed late hero Jonathan Obika after Charlton’s dramatic win against Leeds United on Saturday.

Substitute Obika headed home an injury-time winner after Johnnie Jackson’s early opener was cancelled out by former Valley man Luke Varney nine minutes from time.

And Powell revealed that the striker had sounded him out in the build-up to the game in a bid to try and make a mark following his loan spell from Tottenham Hotspur.

“He knocked on my door yesterday after I named the team and he said asked what he needed to do to get in the team,” said the boss after the game.

“I told him in hindsight that I really should have unleashed him in one or two games, but told him in the remaining six games that he would get minutes, whether that’s from the start or coming off the bench.

“I wanted him to make an impact and show people what he was about. He had it tough in his first game and he hasn’t had maybe the game time he wanted or what Spurs would have liked.

He likes it here, he’s trained really well and is a good young professional and I think he certainly made that impact today.”

Shortly after replacing Callum Harriott around seven minutes from time, Obika tore down the right and centred for the unlikely Chris Solly whose second big goalscoring chance in a matter of moments was blocked by a defender.

And Powell was pleased with his role in the latter stages as managereless Leeds were eventually beaten at the death.

“From when he came on he made that run and I think everyone felt here’s someone that could maybe change the game for us, and he certainly did that today,” added Powell

“He deserves that because he has kept going. He hasn’t let his levels drop and that’s a good sign for him and his future career. So I’m really pleased for him and hope he can make a mark again in the remaining five games.”

The Addicks concluded a telling Championship week with a second home victory in eight days with a resolute 0-0 draw at Brighton & Hove Albion sandwiched inbetween.

And the seven-point haul lifted the club to 54 for the season and left the manager bursting with pride.

“I’m really pleased with the whole week. I was ecstatic with the performance by the players today,” he said.

Good to see Ceballos on the bench today. He's been in good form with the U21s lately and It would be nice to see him get at least a few minutes against Basel on Thursday. I know this has been said millions of times before, but, he really can't do much worse than Dempsey can he?
